I woke up with my head throbbing and my eyes teary. What had I dreamed? The doctor stood over me concerned. Looking around I found myself in the med bay, and the twins aren't there with us.

"Izzy are you alright?"

"Y-Yes," I sat up holding my head. "Are the kids okay?"

"Their fine. You hit your head rather hard there."

I laugh lightly, "Yeah I can feel that much doctor."

He looked somewhat disappointed at his name, getting a slight hurt to him but he covered it up, "We're on this brilliant planet! You'll love it, come on!" He helped me to my feet and I smile weakly at his energy. We raced down the hallway back to the consol room. Chloe was laying around on the floor tapping her feet against the glass floor panels.

"Mum, is this guy our grandpa?" Cody asks.

My eyes widen a bit, "What gave you that ridiculous idea sweetheart?"

"When he picked you up you called him daddy."

"I did?" I looked to the doctor.

"You did," he said, looking awkward.

"Oh god..."

"Are you gonna answer his question mum?" Chloe chimes.

"Yeah mum!"

The pair were looping questions at me like sharks, and I knew I couldn't lie. It was checkmate. They knew It too. Chloe looked up at me expectantly, and Cody walked over a bit closer.

"I guess he is in a way, but that is all he will be." I confess.

"He's the magic man!" they both cried out excitedly.

"The magic man?" The doctor asked.

"It a long story..." I mumble.

Several months previous.

I sat typing on my computer in the living room, working on some files I'd brought home from work. I was so deep in my work I didn't notice when Cody and Chloe got on the couch, until the shy boy spoke, his voice watery and tearful.

"Mummy."

I looked up at him and saw them both in tears, trembling and pale. My eyes widen a little as I set my laptop aside after minimizing the program. I opened my arms to the pair who hugged on instantly.

"What happened?"

"We had a bad dream."

"Oh dear, well that won't do at all!"

"Mummy will you tell us a story?" Chloe asked, finally joining into the conversation.

I pause at this, hesitant. One look at their hopeful faces however crushed me, and tugged at my heart. "Alright I'll tell you a story about..." I search through my mind to find a story, but none come to mind.

"Tell us one about when you were little!" Chloe says, snuggling up to me. I cringe at the thought, the pair were much too young to hear about the darkness of my life. Slowly, I found myself beginning to speak.

"Long ago, when I was little I met a magical man, and he took me into his magic blue box. He was much older than anybody you know, and was passionate when it came to saving many people and even other planets. Soon, he considered me his daughter and taught me all about his magic box, and many other things. I saw him as a kind and loyal hero."

The pair hung on my every word as I told them about planets and places that I'd been, and how I'd been to the future and the past, and saw amazing sights. My chest felt warm as I let myself talk about everything, until Cody asked a question that made my blood run cold.

"Where is the magic man now? Why aren't you still with him?"

I take a deep breath as I form my reply, a lie of course.

"I was too grown up to stay with him. and play his games of make believe. I grew up."
