I Don't Believe In Ghosts

N awoke with a gasp and he fell to the floor. He sat there in a daze as memories played in his head. V walked in and stood her hand on her hip. "N, snap out of it, we have to go soon," She said. He wasn't sure if they where going there or to go hunting. Either way, he wanted to get out of this place. It held to many memories of..her...N gave a nod as he stood. V sighed and placed a small hand on his shoulder. "N, it's not your fault," she assured.

N shook his head and ground his teeth. "I was supposed to protect her!" He shouted out of anger, but sorrow laced his words. "What happened you couldn't have stopped, neither of us new it was coming and even if we did it happened to fast for us to do anything." V said sternly like she was trying to make a pount. N shook his head. "I was right there V! I could have done something!" N shouted as his eyes teared up.  "N, you where stuck in combat, and so was I," V said.

N shook his head as he pushed past her. He needed to get her off his mind. V called out to him but N ignored her and walked out of their pod they have been calling home for the longest of times now. N let his feet carry him away. His mind was clouded as he walked up to a rised up patch of snow. "Uzi.. I-I'm sorry.." he whispered and his tail fell with a light thud. "I don't blame you, N.." Uzis voice came from behind him.

N swung himself around and looked around for the purple haired worker. "Uzi?.." he mumbled and spotted her brightly colored hair against the white snow around them. "Y-You're here!" He said and ran to her only to face plant into the cold snow. "N.. I'm not here.." she whispered as she sat on her knees next to him. N chuckled hysterically, "B-But you're right here!" He said and Uzi shook her head.

Her eyes filled with grief, "N.. I'm dead.." she said. N shook his head as he sat up. "You c-can't be! Y-You're supposed to be invincible! We're ment to live together forever!" N rambled. "I'm sorry.." she whispered as she began to fade away. "U-Uzi! Don't leave me!" N yelled as he reached out for Uzi. "I'm sorry.." was all she said before she was gone. N hit his hands on the ground sending small clouds of snow up and into his face.

He began to sob as the reality of the situation began to set in. Uzi was really gone, she wasn't coming back. A hand was set to his shoulder, "N?" A voice questioned. The voice was of that of a male and when he turned he saw that it was Thad. "What are you doing here?" The green eyed drone questioned as he sat next to him. "I was h-here to visit her.." N said his voice thick with tears.

Thad gave an understanding nod as he faced the upturned snow. "We all miss her.. everyone at the bunker.." Thad said and N lowered his head. "If I was only a little bit faster!" He sounded mad at himself and Thad placed a hand to his shoulder. "It's not your fault man, no one blames you.." he said and Ns eyes lowered in sadness. "I have to go, I hope to see you again soon," Thad said before he rose and walked off into the everlasting blizzard.

N sat there for a while more contemplating something unknown. He stood as the sun was bound to rise soon, and he knew V would be worried if he wasn't back yet. With a sigh N bowed and lowered his hat as a fair well. "I'll miss you, Uzi.. u-until we meet again.. hopefully soon.." he said and the wind picked up bowing wildly around him.

He rose and put his hat back on his head, the same one he and Uzi identified as a pilots hat. "I will miss you d-dearly.." N whispered then spread his wings and flew into the cold air. "As will I.." it was soft and quiet similar to that of a whisper. N made himself believe that it was his imagination of the wind. He soon arrived at the pod and made a not so grateful landing.

Alerted by the sudden cloud of snow, V walked to the door and opened it. N walked in and her eyes followed him. V would lie if she said she wasn't worried for her coworker and past friend. The purple haired worker was important to most, both from earth and the bunker. "Are you alright?" V asked and set a gentle hand to his shoulder.

He turned to her as tears streamed down his visor. "V.. I saw h-her.." N whispered as he turned. V felt her core filled with sorrow as she felt even worse. "What do you mean?" V asked as they sank to the floor. Ns tail curled up and around his torso as Vs just sat on the floor. "I saw h-her.. like she was r-right there.. l-like I could r-reach out to her.. B-But when I tried.. I-I went right t-through h-her.." N said.

V strained to hear him as his voice was barely above that of a whisper. "Oh N.." she said as a pang of sympathy hit her sorrowful heart. N had begun to cry once again. "Go rest up N, I'll go out hunting and bring you some.. maybe you'll feel better after you've eaten.." V said and N could only nod as she rose and walked to the door her tail swishing through the air.

V glanced back then left. The door closed with a hiss and N stood up. He knew what he needed to do. N walked to their sleeping quarters and opened his claws. In one swift move he saw the beating, oil covered, fleshy substance known as his core. His hand appeared as normal as his internal system began to crash.

N looked at the floor. Oil flowed from the hole in his chest and spilled into a growing puddle on the floor. He chuckled darkly at the thought of the dark substance staining his dark green coat and white and metal skin. His eyes then shifted to his core, the oil dripped to the floor with a loud drip drop in his ears. He wanted to claw them out to get rid of the annoying sound.

Ns legs gave out in that moment and he fell to the floor into the puddle of rapidly growing oil. A soft smile fell on his lips as his core fell on the floor. With the last of his strength he raised his tail, filled with harmful nanites, and stabbed it into his core. N let out a yell of pain as the nanites took effect and started to eat away at the fleshy object.

N fell unconscious as a large yellow warning sign came to his visor. 'High Temp' it read in bold letters in the underside. Soon that to was gone and his lights fell and soon disappeared all together. He was gone. V came in and when she couldn't find him she shrugged it off thinking he couldn't wait no longer and went out to hunt by himself.

The sun had began to rise and he wasn't back. With a sigh she went to the sleeping quarters and she nearly puked at the sight, though they had no reflex to do so. She knew what she had to do. As the time passed, days turning into nights and nights into weeks and weeks Into months she was working non stop. Eventually she was finished. In front of her hung two disassembly drone body's. One for a girl and one for a male.

Now all she needed was memory chips. V went to N dismantled corpse and searched till she found his memory chip then she went to a special place where she knew Uzis chip was stored. V grabbed it and made he was back to the oil ridden room. She placed the chips in the corresponding drones neck before stepping back. The male was the first to blink to life.

He looked exactly like N, just in a better model then before. "V? What happened?" He asked and looked around. The hanging female drone fell with a violent thud making them both look. The girls hoodie had something similar to a TV screen with a X of bones behind it. Her hair was short, curly, and purple. "Uzi?.." N questioned as he looked at the girl. She gasped. "N!" She yelled and jumped at him.

Her body didn't cooperate right away which ended with her falling face first to the floor. N caught Uzi and brought her to her feet. "I'm so glad your okay!" N said as he hugged Uzi tightly. V only smiled. "Thank you V.." Uzi said as she looked at her. V nodded, "It was no problem," she said and they all grouped up in a hug. This would take a while for Uzi to get used to, but nothing time couldn't help.
