Dream T/W: Blood, corpses
You're walking through the rubble of a small settlement. Fire still crackles in the distance. Ashes float in the breeze, causing your throat to itch. Dead trees line what was once the frames of many houses. The course dirt underneath your feet changes very abruptly to broken gravel. You look down at the destroyed house, then back ahead. Cool, night wind blows across your face. You shiver. The street is abandoned. Your feet crunch against the gravel as you continue forward, albeit slowly. Something is urging you to keep going through the dark streets. The stars seem dimmer somehow. The moon is nowhere to be found. There's something obstructing the path just ahead. Around what looks to be a fountain is more rubble. On one side is a toppled statue lying on more wooden framework. The other side hides a long, stone sword that was split down the middle. You lean over the side of the fountain. As expected, the water is dried up. What causes you to step back in disgust is the blood. Bokoblin, Moblin, and Lizalfos corpses lie inside. Many have already begun to rot. You place a hand over your mouth to keep from gagging. Around the stone sword is an array of swords, spears, bows, and shields, seemingly from the dead demons. A red gloom shines overhead. You look upwards. The moon has just begun to rise above the tree line, or what's left of it. Many of the trees have been burnt or destroyed. A blood red glow emits from the large astral body. A Loftwing flies away from the moon in your direction. A crimson red Loftwing.
You bolt up from bed so fast that you almost hit your head on the backboard. This was your first nightmare in weeks. Taking deep breaths, you sit up and hang your feet off the side of the bed. This one felt more real than all the others. As if you were living or have had it before. You clasp your hands between your knees and look down at them. It had taken place here, in the village.
"What does it mean?" you mumble.
Someone walks by your room in a hurry. You look up, towards the door, and suddenly remember that the coronation is tomorrow. Fortunately, there's not much for you to do. After taking another deep breath, you stand up, walk over to the dresser to find something to wear, and leave to find Ghirahim.
With so much activity going around in each corner of the castle, you weren't surprised to find Ghirahim in the ballroom, overlooking the decorating. He doesn't notice you until you stand behind him and clear your throat. As he turns, you look down awkwardly.
"(Y/n). This is a pleasant surprise. Is there anything I can help you with?" he asks.
You look up, purse your lips, and shake your head.
"I just wanted to see how... everything is coming along," you reply weakly.
He gives you a small smile and nods.
"And there's something I would like to tell you," you add awkwardly, looking down again.
He gives you a concerned glance.
"I wish I could meet you right now, but I'm terribly busy. I'll come find you after I'm done preparing for the ball and we can speak then," he replies.
"Yes sir. Sorry to bother you," you mutter.
He places a finger under your chin and uses it to lift your head. You look into his eyes as he retracts his hand. He gives you a warm smile.
"Don't apologize. It was lovely to see you again," he says.
The longer you stare into his eyes, the hotter your cheeks become, though you can't seem to look away. You pry your eyes away and quickly rush out of the room, heading straight to the library.
