You walk through a forest, looking around aimlessly. Through the leaves, you can see that the sun is about to completely set. Yellow, red, and pink clouds streak across the orange sky. A stick crunches beneath your foot. You immediately look down at the broken wood. There's a glistening sound to your left. Without looking, you know who it is. Instead, you keep your eyes trained down at the stick.
"What're you doing here?" you mumble.
There's no response. You finally look up and over. The figure is cloaked in shadow underneath a tree. You look back down, now focusing on a single blade of grass.
"There's nothing here for you. Just go," you sigh.
Still, no response. Once again, you look back to the figure, who hasn't moved at all.
"Leave me alone! I'm trying to forget about you!" you scream.
The figure doesn't react. You look back down, a single tear gliding down your cheek as you scrunch your eyes shut. A finger is raised to your cheek and rubs away the tear. You don't push away the hand, although you want to.
"Please, just talk to me," you beg.
Two new fingers are placed under your chin, forcing you to look up. Just as a beam of light shines onto the figure, they disappear in a flurry of black diamonds.
"Not like this," a familiar voice whispers.
"Why can't I see you?" you ask, looking around for the source of the voice.
"You will soon," the voice replies.
"Where are you?" you add, now searching the trees.
"Closer than you think,"
You shoot up from your sleeping bag, sweat dripping down your forehead. A strange light is emanating from under your blanket. You pull your hands out from under. The Triforce on the back of your hand is glowing wildly.
"(Y/n)! Are we still hanging out today?" a voice outside whines.
"What time is it?" you mutter, standing up.
"Past lunch," Hummer complains.
"Alright, alright. I'm coming," you sigh.
After quickly pulling on a fresh tunic, you walk outside to see a thrilled Hummer.
"So you're back, huh?" you yawn.
"Yeah! Can you believe it's already been a week?" she asks excitedly.
"I guess I can't," you admit, starting to walk down the path.
"So how was your mission with Groose? Wasn't that the day after I left?" she asks, running to catch-up with you.
"Fine," you lie.
"Gosh, I wish I was there for that," she sighs dreamily.
"So, what do you want to do today?" you redirect.
"Maybe explore the temple a little? Go see the Goddess Statue?" she suggests.
"That sounds fun," you reply, stretching your arms out behind your back as you walk.
Hummer jumps up gleefully and skips ahead. You watch her, wondering if you were ever that energetic as a child.
Time skip - an hour later
You follow Hummer down a small set of stairs in the temple, counting the holes in the side of the building. It's sad how badly the temple has gone into disrepair. Hopefully, the same state hasn't fallen on the Goddess Statue. You've just now realized that you haven't seen it up close since first coming onto the Surface. The tree within the temple has been growing with no limitations for a year now. A couple roots are starting to peek through the stone flooring around it. You turn around to look at the door in the back of the temple.
