WARNING! This chapter is pretty romance heavy, and does contain some lemon (if you don't know what lemon means, Google it for your sake). There'll be stamps for that part.
When you awaken, the sun is already decently high in the sky. You groggily swing your legs over and look around, using your hand to shield your eyes. A large fire, much larger than the one you made last night, illuminates an area under the trees. Everything from your bags has been neatly laid out, and your sword rests on top of a tree-stump you didn't notice before. You could swear there was a tree there last night, but then again, you were extremely tired. There's a good smell coming from the fire. You quietly leap out of bed and walk over. The smell gets stronger and better as you approach. It reminds you of something you ate in the castle, but you can't quite place what. As you approach, you see Ghirahim sitting behind the fire, holding something into it. You watch him for a moment before clearing your throat. He turns to you and smiles.
"Good morning. How did you sleep, my dear?" he asks, standing up.
"To be honest, I haven't slept that well in a long time," you admit, stretching out your shoulders.
"That's good to hear. Did you have any good dreams?" he adds.
"No, I don't think so. But I've had a lot of really weird dreams in the past, so maybe that's for the best," you yawn, now reaching out your arms in front of your chest to crack your knuckles.
He nods and crouches back over whatever he was doing.
"So, what're you working on?" you ask, leaning out to the side to stretch your leg.
"Well, I caught some fish in the pond this morning, so I was wondering if you'd like to join me in preparing it. I know you used to work with Uttara in the castle some," he suggests.
"That sounds nice," you reply, smiling.
"Alright. It's almost done cooking. Do you think there's anything you could use to spice it up around here?" he asks.
"There should be at least something near the lake I can use. Let me go check,"
He nods. You walk over to the lake, sliding off your boots and socks once you get closer. There are a few strange plants on the bank. One looks like it's three orange flowers, but once you pull it out, there's a bulb connected to the roots. You take the strange plant and tuck it underneath your arm while pulling up another. They smell good, which is often a good sign. If it happens to be poisonous, you have the materials and instructions to make a potion in your first aid kit. Your bare toes squish in the mud. You look down at your filthy tunic and trousers and sigh. Hopefully, you can find time today to freshen up. Ghirahim stands up from where he was sitting. You walk over to him, one of the strange plants in either hand. He watches with his hands on his hips.
"What'd you find?" he asks, looking down at the strange plants.
"No idea. But they look and smell edible," you shrug.
He nods. You snap the flowery part off and throw them into the fire, then start skinning the bulbs. Ghirahim pulls some sort of makeshift pan out of the fire. On it are two freshly cooked fish. Your mouth waters just at the sight. You immediately start skinning the bulbs, grinding them up the best you can, and putting them on the plate. Ghirahim nods. The bulbs only add to the scent of the fish.
