There's only an hour left before the coronation when you get up. You're still grumpy with Ghirahim about last night but decide to put it behind you for the time being. This will probably be the only time you'll ever go to a prestigious event like this. Groggily, you get out of bed and start rummaging through your dresser to find something to wear. Eventually you find a flowered shirt with a matching jacket. You throw it on and find a pair of black pants and dressy shoes to wear underneath, then quickly rush out to find something to eat before the ceremony. Uttara isn't in the kitchen. They're most likely helping set up the ball. There's a basket of fruit in the middle of the counter, most likely left there by them. You take one that you learned is called a banana and eat it as you walk through the hallways. There aren't many people in the halls. You were expecting a bustle of activity. Instead, it's so quiet it's eerie. As you pass by one of the halls, you can hear humming coming from one of the rooms. You pause and look around before heading towards the source of the noise. It gets much louder as you approach. Suddenly, you come to a familiar door.
"Why's it coming from Ghirahim's room?" you wonder aloud.
You raise your knuckles to the door but suspend them right in front. The humming continues. After listening for a couple more seconds, you knock. The humming stops. You wait patiently for the door to open. It does after another minute. Ghirahim's surprised expression meets your gaze.
"O-oh, (y/n). Do you need something?" he stammers, now even more surprised.
"I heard something coming from your room," you reply slyly.
His cheeks flash red, but he quickly regains his calm composure.
"I was simply getting ready," he replies.
"Your ceremony starts soon. You don't want to be late," you tease.
"I'm aware. I'm almost ready," he replies.
You notice he's halfway hiding behind the door, using it to shield his upper body. Now it's your turn to fluster.
"If you'll leave me be, then I'll have time to finish," he says, sounding a bit annoyed.
"Yes, your majesty," you reply sarcastically, rolling your eyes.
He gives you an irritated glance before shutting the door. Loudly. With a huff, you turn around and walk down the highly decorated hall. Everything seems to need to be perfect for the Demon Lord's crowning. Besides his relationship with you, of course. You let out an angered sigh as you pass the throne room. The doors are locked. Passing the castle entrance, you make it back to your room just to grab your sword. The sheath reflects the sunlight on to the floor, which then directs to the ceiling. Swinging it over your shoulder, you rush out of the room to make it to the ceremony in time. A Stalfos passes you in the hallway, giving you a short glance. From what you've read, Stalfos are the rarest subgroup of demon. Seeing one in person interests you, but you don't have time to ponder on it now. You need to make it to the ceremony so you can get a seat near the front.
Ghirahim's POV: Right After
As I fasten my ceremonial robe, another knock rings out from the door. I sigh and walk over to answer it. At least I'm fully clothed this time.
"I mean it, (y/n)," I snarl as I open the door.
Instead of an annoying human girl, I'm met with a tall Stalfos dressed in black. Alcestis gives me a confused look.
"My apologize. I wasn't expecting you," I scramble to say.
"No worries, my lord. May I please come in?" he asks.
I open the door all the way and gesture for him to enter. He gives me a nod of thanks and walks in. I close the door behind him and leans against it.
"You look stunning, my lord. I have no doubts about your reign," he says.
