You're back in the same forest as the night before. As soon as you regain your senses, you begin walking again. The sun has just set beneath the horizon, leaving just a little orange against the edge of the sky. Now the clouds look as if they're silver. A few faint stars peek through the leaves. Soon, the moon will rise. Something bumps against your back. You reach back and feel the hilt of your blade. It's comforting, yet disturbing, that you now have a weapon. A figure rustles in a nearby tree. In the shadow, you can just see them leap from tree to tree as you walk.
"Why am I having this dream again?" you ask.
"It's not a dream. It's a mystical vision," the familiar voice replies.
Still, you can't place where you've heard the voice before, but you know you have.
"Then you have consciousness too, don't you?" you ask, continuing to walk.
The figure leaps to another tree before responding.
"I do," they confirm.
"So you're invading my mind and my personal space," you grunt.
"I've done it before," they smirk.
That cocky tone just confirms that you know the voice. Whoever they are, they've used that voice before, multiple times.
"Do you remember your stay with the Demon Tribe?" the figure asks.
You stop dead in your tacks. The Tribe. Uttara. Training. The ball. Coronation. Ghirahim.
"It's been a month now. A month with them, then a month with your own people. That means you must be returning to them soon," the voice points out.
"It's been a month?" you ask, bewildered.
"It has. And you've all but forgotten about them, besides memory lapses here and there. That's not your doing though. I'm just helping you remember, now that I have enough energy to reach you," the voice replies.
"Who are you?" you ask, starting to walk again.
"An old friend," they reply.
"You don't sound like Oiseau," you smirk.
"Who? Ah well, it doesn't matter. I'm glad to hear that you haven't lost your cheeky side," the figure responds.
"Just cut to the chase. Who are you, and what do you want?" you demand.
"All in good time, (y/n). You're not ready to see me like this. You hardly even remember who I am. So I'll remind you,"
You look up to the figure just in time to see them vanish in a storm of diamonds. The sword on your back slowly dissipates. You look around to see that the moon has just risen fully. How long was that chat?
"Alright, (y/n). Time to wake up," you mutter, pinching yourself.
Your eyes open to see the Triforce on the back of your hand glowing twice as bright as yesterday morning. It's still strange to see. You ignore it and pull on a tunic. Hopefully, tomorrow, the mystery figure in your dreams will reveal themself. You hear footsteps approaching your tent.
"Hey, (y/n). You up?" Groose asks from outside.
"Coming," you groan, pulling on your boots.
He waits patiently until you come outside. You make sure to keep your glowing hand in your pocket.
"We had a large task-force raid the castle last night, and look what they brought back!" he explains excitedly.
Groose holds out a picture frame. You take it, staring down at the image within. It's the picture of your parents. A tear streams down your cheek. You hug the picture with both arms, securing it tightly to your chest.
