For the third time, you're walking through the forest. Your sword is gone, but the Triforce insignia is still present on the back of your hand. Just like last time, you begin walking. The figure is next to you this time, still cloaked in shadow. The moon is above you in the sky. Off in the distance, between the trees, you can see a clearing in the distance.
"So, how was walking down memory lane?" the figure asks.
"Wait, that was you?" you ask, looking over to them.
"Sure was. I needed you to remember me," they reply.
"You're not... no, you couldn't be,"
You walk out into the clearing, turning to the figure. The field is brightly lit by the moon.
"Unfortunately, no. I'm not Ghirahim. But it was the only form I could take to get you to trust me, just in case you remembered before I expected," the figure replies.
The figure stays behind, shrouded in the darkness provided by the leaves.
"Then who are you?" you ask.
Finally, they step into the light, morphing from Ghirahim to a small woman as they walk forward. The girl stops once she's fully enveloped in moonlight. Her silver dress and golden hair blow in the breeze.
"Y-you're-"
"Hylia," she nods sadly.
"But how? Why? I thought Zelda was Hylia," you stammer.
"My spirit was released after the battle with Demise. Zelda is just Zelda now, and I'm a lost spirit without a physical form," she explains.
Her voice sounds like a bird's song dipped in the sweetest substance known to Hylians. You hang on to her words, trying to make the memory of each one last longer than it was spoken.
"You cannot walk the path set out for you by others. Just because you hold a piece of the Triforce doesn't inherently make you good or evil,"
"I don't understand," you whisper.
"But you will with time, my child. You have been destined with a great burden ever since the Triforce was created and the story of all things was written out. But this is not a path you walk alone. Your purpose is to protect the Triforce of Power as an equinox of the force. It only amplifies the powers you had before," she explains.
You stand there, dumbfounded, absorbing information.
"The one you call Ghirahim still lives," she adds.
A flood of relief washes through you.
"Why couldn't I remember him?" you ask.
"On that one fateful night, when he was captured, he used the last bit of his remaining magic to partially erase him from your mind. It took a while to take effect, but now that the curse is broken, you can save him," she replies.
"Wait wait wait, but wouldn't you want him dead? Since he tried to kill you or something?" you ask, head spinning.
"He did none of that on his own accord. And he is not evil either, even if he is sly. But the Demon Tribe isn't what's best for him. He was made with a purpose that far surpasses the Imprisoning War,"
She gives you a soft smile and walks forward, taking your hand. You look down, then back into her eyes.
"There'll be signs. You need to follow them to escape. Link may be my hero, but he's not everyone's, and having all three pieces of the Triforce in one location is too dangerous. Now go," she whispers.
