Friends with Benefits - Daniel Ricciardo

DANIEL

This race weekend went by flying. In between interviews, taking pictures, signing merch, I've had no time to stop for a second and think about anything different than F1. That doesn't mean I failed to notice the interactions between Sophie and Charles in the paddock. I was trying my best to not let it affect my sunday and all the attention the crowd was giving me was being a great help.

-"It has been so nice seeing you again Grace" I heard Sophie's voice as I was entering the Mclaren hospitality. If I didn't know myself better I would have swore her voice made my heart skip a beat for a second.

-"Sophie, you are one of a kind. I look forward to have you visiting us this week" my dad said and I was finally able to see them. Soph and my dad were hugging goodbye while my mom had the brightest smile on her face.

-"Sophia, where are you going?" I asked making her turn her head towards me.

-"I was actually going to the garage to make sure you didn't need anything from me" she said giving me a small smile.

-"You are so sweet Sophie. I hope Daniel's ways are not giving you trouble" my mom said offering a motherly smile. Sophie just laugh.

-"Well, let's walk to the garage together. Bye mom and Dad. See you after the race" I said rushing Sophie through the Paddock.

"So how's everything going with Charles?" I asked without looking at her

-"It's all good. He's staying until tuesday so we might go out tomorrow" she answered without a care.

-"Cool.." I whispered. As we were walking next to my driver room I pulled her by the arm inside of it.

"Sophie, come to the farm with me" I said maintaining my distance. She had been very clear that she wanted to give it a try with Leclerc and I didn't want to disrespect that.
"I know you probably don't want to disrespect Charles but I promise I'll maintain my distance. I just want us to spend some time together"  I continued under her questioning face.
-"Wait a second Daniel. Charles has nothing to do with this. We are just getting to know each other" she said caressing my arm sending my thoughts to wild places.
"If that's what you want us to do then I'd be more than happy" she continued but my thoughts were somewhere else.
-"Do you like him?" I asked rapidly.
-"Charles? He's very handsome. I mean, he's sweet... I- " I could noticed that she was nervous but I don't think she noticed how disappointed I was.
-" So you do. Do you like him more than you like me" I interrupted her causing her to send her eyes wide open.
"I mean, as a friend" I rushed to say.
-"Dan, nobody will ever be you" she said giving me a smile that melted my heart.
"Time to race. Good luck handsome" and with that she left a kiss on my cheek before walking out of the room.

Last episode was pretty long! This is a bit shorter because I didn't feel that many things were happening with Dan narrating. Next one will be longer :) Hope you guys enjoy it either ways!
