I was immobile. At least, that's how I wanted to appear. After Capture the Flag had ended, after the prophecy had been given, after Nico had left, seemingly for good, and after I had cried her eyes out, I went straight to Cabin Three and just sat there on my bed.
I was tired. So tired.
"Hey Violet." Percy said softly, touching my shoulder. I stared at his orange armored shirt. His helmet was still in his hands. "Violet." Percy said shaking me s little.
"I'm tired." I murmured. Percy looked back at our friends crowding the doorway to our cabin.
"She's tired." He repeated to them.
"Do you need anything Violet?" Piper asked in a soothing voice. I shook my head and slowly fell onto my side on my bed, staring blankly at Percy's bunk across from me.
"We'll just leave you alone then." Percy murmured, stroking my hair before bending down and kissing my forehead. He walked towards the door and our friends retreated into the darkness outside. Glancing back at me one more time, he turned off the lights and closed the door.
I wanted to cry again but I just didn't have it in me. I closed my eyes and even though I was tired, the wheels in my brain were turning. I had to get out of here. I had to go after him. But I needed a plan.
----
Percy came back in around midnight maybe. I assumed they had a meeting with all the heads of the Cabins in the Big House. They had probably decided that somebody should go after him. Maybe they would put it into effect tomorrow but I was ready now.
Underneath my bed was a backpack full of the essentials. An extra pair of clothes, drachmas, real money, some food, items I had gotten through the Stoll brothers. They didn't even ask why I was in their Cabin they just sympathetically touched my shoulders before leading me to their stash of things.
I waited maybe an hour after Percy had come back in before heading out. I didn't want him to stop me. They probably had a plan, one that might not even involve me since I appeared to be a little more than unstable. Especially since I had just barely gotten back on my feet after being poisoned.
Percy was snoring lightly as I threw off my covers. I was already fully dressed. Grabbing the note from underneath my pillow, I straightened out the covers of my bed before placing the note down on it. I slung the backpack over my shoulder and headed for the door. I picked up my sword and scabbard that was hanging on my bedpost and then I was all set. I just needed to grab one more thing.
"Hazel." I whispered harshly into the darkened Hades Cabin. I snapped my fingers and the torches of Greek Fire grew larger. Nico said they were sound activated by snapping which made all the magic of it go away.
Venturing further into the Cabin, I peered into the darkness, hoping she had opted to sleep here for the night instead of heading back to Rome. Sneaking around Camp Half-Blood was one thing sneaking around Camp Jupiter was another.
"Violet?" A voice whispered back. I watched her rise from her bunk. She rubbed her eyes slowly. I ran forward, my footsteps echoing on the marble floor.
"Hazel." I repeated, brushing my hair out of my face. Hazel looked tired, worn. She rubbed her bloodshot eyes and I cringed a little. I had lost my boyfriend sure but this was her brother. The one who had brought her back from the dead.
