"Put your back into it Violet!" Axel shouted. I grunted as I dodged the crabs claws as he tried to take a swipe at me. I pushed my hair out of my face. It was sticking to my skin with sweat. I should have tied it up but I hadn't planned on killing this crab taking so long.

"My back has nothing to do with it!" I shouted at him slicing at the crabs legs again. "It has everything to do with power!" I swung again and again but nothing. The crab scuttled after Percy and nearly ran over Hazel in the process.

"We're getting nowhere guys!" Hazel cried out. She was tired. Her sword was touching the hot sand, her shoulders slumped. "We need a better plan."

"Well sorry my whole legs idea didn't pan out." Axel grumbled loudly. "But I don't hear anyone else handing out suggestions."

"Nobody said it was a bad idea." Percy panted wiping the sweat form his forehead. "We just need a new one." Hazel shrouded us momentarily and sent the crab on a small goose chase with projected versions of ourselves.

"How else do you kill a crab?" I asked.

"You and I can try to turn it over in the water and we can attack it's underside." Percy suggested. "The shell is weaker there right?" I had a vague memory of one of my fosters moms breaking open a crab like that but I could just not be remembering right.

"I don't know. I don't eat crab."

"For the daughter of Poseidon that sounds ludicrous." I rolled my eyes at Axel.

"It's worth a shot. We have no other ideas." Hazel said with a shrug.

"Alright big brother lets work some water magic." I stepped away form my friends and walked down to the water, shouting at the crab. "Hey! Shellfish!" It turned toward me. "Are you as dumb as you are slow?" The crab hissed, clicking its claws. I ran into the water before diving under the waves. I could feel Percy not far behind me.

As soon as the crab hit the water, I began moving the currents around it to keep it in a central location. Percy joined me and the crab tried desperately to escape our swirling vortex.

Push up. Imagine you're forming a geyser. Percy spoke in the back of my mind. I nodded my head and with our combined efforts, we managed to tip the crab over. We shot up out of the water cheering.

"High-five little sis!" I laughed high-giving my brother as we watched the crab wiggle and squirm on its back. With my help, Hazel and Axel I managed to get up on top of the crab and then the four of us tried altogether to break through a central location the crabs stomach but it wasn't working.

"Okay, you were wrong!" Axel exclaimed throwing his hand in the air. I rolled my eyes at how dramatic he was being but he was right. This wasn't working. Suddenly the crab shifted, it felt like it would finally be able to get up.

"Brace yourselves." I said grabbing Axels arm and Hazel's hand. The crab flipped over and Hazel screamed in surprise as we hit the cold water. Percy and I propelled our friends out of the way so the crab wouldn't squish us with its spindly legs. We surfaced, bobbing up and down in the choppy waves.

"Now what?" Axel demanded.

"I hear a lot of complaining and not a lot of ideas coming from you."
