"Where the hell are we?" Axel demanded, shielding his eyes from the sun as he practically leaped off of my hellhound. Nightwing opened his great big mouth and yawned before slumping to the ground and falling asleep. "What's wrong with him?" Axel continued, kicking his heels into him. Nightwing didn't move.
"Stop kicking him. He's asleep. Have you ever seen a hellhound when it wakes up from a nap early?" I demanded. Axel opened his mouth but I wasn't about to let him say something. "You haven't so shut your mouth." He glared at me.
"We're in Troy." Percy announced. He had already slid off of Nightwing and was standing just ten feet beyond us. He was staring up at the metal structure Nightwing had placed us under.
"Troy? This doesn't look like Rome." Hazel murmred, walking towards Percy.
"Because we're not in Rome. We're still in America." Percy said with a smile before gesturing up.
"Oh.." Hazel said, nodding her head.
"What are you two looking at?" I questioned getting off Nightwing and walking towards them. As I walked out from the shade I realized what we were sitting under was a water tower. I could feel the water inside of it pulling at my gut and I smiled at the familiar feeling. I stood next to my brother, Hazel and Percy and looked up at the water tower. Written in plain red letters around the bowl was Troy, OH.
"Why are we in Ohio?" Axel demanded. I shrugged.
"It must be where Nico is." I said, glancing around. We were probably a mile or so out from the city, which could be seen in the distance.
"Why would he go to Ohio?" Percy asked, looking back and forth between Hazel and I.
"How am I supposed to know. I apparently don't even know him that well." I muttered. Hazel looked at me sadly so I sighed and apologized to her with my eyes. "Well, let's get to walking. He's passed out. Probably won't wake up for a while."
"Walking? You don't have anymore hellhounds up your sleeve?" Axel asked sarcastically. I rolled my eyes as I pointed down the road in the direction we had to go.
"We should try to find some food. I'm starving." Percy mentioned, touching his stomach. I hadn't even noticed before then that I was hungry. I nodded in agreement as we took off.
We had walked maybe half of a mile when we saw a building looming in the distance. The smell hit us before we even saw what it was. "Food." Percy stated. It looked to be a rundown diner of some sorts but judging by the amount of cars outside of it, it was a popular location.
"Didn't you have a bad experience with a roadside diner?" I asked Percy.
"Yeah but I've gotten over my fear of them." He said with a shrug. "I'm just hungry."
"You were just hungry last time according to Annabeth." Hazel pointed out. "And you nearly died because of it." Axel scoffed.
"Should we be afraid of this diner or something? Look at it. There's no monsters hiding in there, just people."
"Monsters can look like people Axel." I reminded him. Axel rolled his eyes.
"Whatever. I'm hungry, let's go in. We're four demigods, whatever monsters are in there, we can handle." Percy said with confidence. I rolled my eyes.
"Fine, lets go." I muttered giving into the smell as I gestured to the doors. Percy fist pumped the air and opened the doors for us. The hostess smiled and sat us down almost immediately st a booth towards the back of the restaurant.
"Looks pretty safe." Hazel murmured, scanning the room.
"Smells pretty safe." Percy agreed breathing in deeply. Axel shook his head at him as a pretty blonde waiter glided towards us.
