Chapter 40 - Growing Up

Cam's POV
It was the weekend, so everyone was home. We didn't really have anything planned today.
I rolled out of bed and took a shower. I put on a black t-shirt, black jeans, and black vans. I put on a black and white snapback and went downstairs.
I started making breakfast as everyone started waking up. Addy came down and she didn't look happy.
"What's wrong pumpkin?" I asked.
"Nothing." she said, sounding annoyed.
I didn't respond. She's having one of her "Leave Me Alone" days.
I finished breakfast and everyone ate. Addy ate more the usual. She ate double what she usually eats.
"Hungry?" Carter asked teasingly.
She glared at him and Carter looked confused. Addy knows when Carter is just joking with her.
She threw her plates in the sink and went upstairs.
"What's up with her?"Nash asked.
"Beats me." I said.
Addy's POV
I feel very annoyed and aggravated for some weird reason. I just want to be left alone.
I had to go to the bathroom, so I went upstairs. As I pulled down my pants, I saw something way out of the ordinary.
Blood...and a whole lot of it...
Cam's POV
As I cleaned up the kitchen, I heard a scream. Addy's scream...
"Daddy!" she yelled.
Everyone ran upstairs and stopped at the bathroom door.
"What's wrong baby?" I asked, worried she was hurt.
"I'm b-bleeding!" she cried.
"Where?" I asked.
"From...THERE!!!" she yelled.
Fuck...I think she got her period...
I gave everyone the "Oh Shit" look.
"What do I do?!" I asked the guys.
"Call Mahogany or somethin!" Carter said.
"Hold on baby. We're gonna call Auntie Lox." I said to Addy.
"Okay..." she said, sounding scared out of her mind.
I pulled out my phone and called Mahogany.
Phone Convo
M- Hello?
C- Mahogany! I need your help! It's Addy!
M- What's wrong with her? Is she okay?
C- I don't know! I think she got her 1st period and I have no clue what to do!
M- Calm down! I'll be there in 15 minutes.
C- Hurry!
End Of Convo
"She's on her way baby girl." I said.
"There's more blood!" she cried.
"Didn't you learn anything from Sierra about this kind of stuff?" Carter asked.
"I didn't pay attention to that!" I said.
"Anyone else?" Carter asked.
Everyone shook their heads.
"Dad, why is Addy bleeding from...there...?" Brady asked.
I looked at everyone.
"Uh...girl stuff..." I said.
"Ew! Okay!" he said, covering his ears.
15 minutes later, Mahogany came.
"Where is she?" she asked, holding a bag of "feminine products".
"Upstairs bathroom." I said.
She ran up the stairs without responding.
Addy's POV
I'm super scared right now. I have no clue what's going on or why I'm bleeding.
"Addy, it's Auntie Lox." I heard someone knock on the door.
I unlocked it and she came in. I immediately started crying.
"Shhh. It's okay sweetheart. This is normal." she said.
"How is this normal?" I asked.
She explained to me what a period was and why girls got it. She explained how to use pads and stuff.
"I'm going to take you home with me. Being in a house full of boys isn't the best place to be on your period." she said.
I got happy. Finally a week away from these dorks...
Cam's POV
The girls came down with a bag of Addy's clothes.
"Addy, can you go wait in the car for me please?" Mahogany asked.
Addy nodded and hugged everyone good-bye.
"Cam, can I talk to you...alone?" she asked.
I nodded and we went into the hallway.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"She's growing up Cam." she said.
"Too fucking fast if you ask me..." I mumbled.
"That's life. But you really need to be careful with her now. She'll be staying at my house on her periods until she can handle it on her own. Being in a house full of 9 boys doesn't help her much." she said.
"What are you saying?" I asked.
"Might be time for you to "get out there"". she said.
"You mean like dating?" I asked.
"Yup. Before you adopted them, I remember you always wanted to get settled down with a girl. Now's the time. They need a Mom. Trust me." she said.
"Thanks. For everything." I said with a smile.
She smile back and we hugged. We went back into the living room and she said bye to everyone. She left and I flopped onto the couch.
"You okay bro?" Hayes asked.
"My little girl is growing up..." I said.
"What about us?" Cody and Brady whined.
"You guys too. I remember Addy throwing tantrums for not eating her veggies, Brady wanting to be held all the time, and Cody always needed a hug before bed. Now, you guys are already almost 12." I said.
"We'll always be you're little monsters dad." Brady said, making me smile.
"Good." I said.
They laughed and we spent the rest of the day watching movies together.
