~SEVEN~

I walk back inside the shop.
" Hey what's all the commotion goin on out there?" Steve asked as he sat waiting for someone to just come in and buy something.

" Socs I tell ya! We gotta do something about them Steve! Just imagine if Delaney got hurt! The whole town would be dead from Dallas!" Sodapop said right behind me. He slammed the door making me jump a little bit.

"Soda I'm fine!" I said trying to calm him down. He walked over to me and tilted my chin up exposing my neck to him. There were faint finger marks that were starting to bruise.

I pushed his hand away. "Soda i am fine. It's no big deal."

" Don't worry Soda, we'll-we'll get our justice soon." Steve said trying to calm Soda.
Soda calmed down a bit.

" Come on. We told o'Dally we'd show ya around, so let's go on a walk or somethin!" Steve said wrapping his arms around Soda and my shoulders. I took a step to the side, knocking his hand off my shoulder. I just don't like physical contact much. It was just never my thing.

We walked around a bit. I ended up seeing the lot, the drive in, the park, the gang hangouts, the dingo, and dairy queen.

" It's getting late. Let's head back home." Soda said to us as we finished up out food from dairy queen. I wasn't too hungry so I just had an ice cream with chocolate and caramel drizzle.

" I'ma head back my way." Steve said to us.

I waved goodbye as Soda told him to be safe on the walk home.
We started walking back to Bucks.

" Hey Soda?" I asked
" Yeah what's up?" He responded. We continued to walk.

" What did you mean earlier by " I'll be put in a boys home?"" I asked him, " do you mean by your parents?"

He was silent. " Oh you don't have to answer! I'm sorry. I'm just naturally curious and sometimes nosey." I said to him.

" No it's ok. You have to know soon enough" he said finally speaking. "  Um long story short. My parents died in a car accident. A train hit them, not too long ago. It's only been about nine months. And the court said that we could stay with Darry as long as we got into no trouble or we would be split up and Pony and I would be put in a boys home." He said with a small sniffle at the end.

" Oh Soda I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked." I said feeling bad. We eventually made it into the neighborhood. I looked down watching my everystep.

" No it's ok. It's nice to talk about it sometimes. We all got it ruff around here." He said. We were walking so close that our hands would brush each others every so often.

" What do you mean?" I asked him.

" Well you and Dallas ran from home. My parents are dead. Two-bits only got his ma and his kid sister, and Steve's got his dad who hates him when hes drunk which is all the time. Johnny's the only one with both parents round here but the hit em!" Soda says.

" I guess that's what separates us from the socs. They got a healthy family life style I guess you could call it. Both parents alive and not beating the crap out of their kid." He finished.

" Big white houses. Mustangs and Madras" I continued. I giggled a bit. He laughed too.

" Alright now your starting to sound like Ponyboy!" Soda said. I started laughing too. 
We finally got back to their house.

" Alright. Thanks for taking her on this little date but party's over." Dally said running out the door and pulling me by my shoulders back in the opposite way towards his car.

" Oh. Bye Soda!" I called out to Soda smiling, turning my body as we continued walking way.

" Bye Delaney!" He called back to me before walking into his house. The sun had practically set so the sky was turning a dark blue.
