~EIGHT~

I woke up. I must have fallen asleep when I was talking to Pony. Pony was dead asleep in the chair next to the bed.

I felt less dizzy so I decided to get up. I went to the family room expecting Darry or Soda to be there. I turned on the light. Nobody.

Maybe they are in Darry's room.
" Darry" I whispered at his door. I knocked. "Darry!" I yelled still in a whisper.

I opened the door. The bed was empty.
Why wasn't Soda back yet? He left nearly an hour and a half ago. Something was up.

I grabbed my jacket and slipped on my shoes. Probably wasn't the best move, but I just wanted to make sure everyone was okay. 

The sky was dark and the air was cold. It was nearly one in the morning.

I ran through the park area and over to the lot. I saw the gang. Dallas, Soda, Two-bit, Darry, Johnny, and Steve were there.

I could only see them from the light from the moon shining down on us.

Dally was pulling his hair out of frustration walking back and forth. He had his jean jacket on but some how he had lost his shirt.

The gang surrounded him trying to calm him down.
I ran up to them quietly.
" Soda!" I whispered as I hid behind him. I tapped his shoulder.
" Hey, what are you doing here?" He asked me.

" Delaney?!" Dallas said. I hid behind Soda truly scared. Not a lot of people scare me, but Dallas did.

" I'm s-sorry, I never ment to hurt my kid sister!" He said. I had never seen him cry before. The gang must have not as well because they were all surprised too.

" Please, please, don't hide from me." He said. He held his arms out. I stepped out from behind Soda and ran into his arms. He held me tightly.

" I love you so much. I hope you forgive me." He said crying harder than ever. My eyes started to tear up a bit. I nodded. He rocked me as we hugged.
" I love you too Dal. I forgive you." I said.
He kissed my forehead.

He pulled back and looked at my cheek. I looked down at the ground, kicking a pebble.
His hand rubbed over my bruise. I put my hand on his and pulled it down.
" It's ok Dallas, it will heal." I said to him.
He wiped the water in his eyes as they returned back to their icy stare.

Blue and red lights started to flash around us.

" Run! Run!" Dallas yelled. Soda grabbed my arm and pulled me along with the gang as we ran.
We ran from the lot. We all hopped over a fence. We ran through the darkness for a few minutes until the cops had finally stopped chasing us.
We hid in an alley way.

I started laughing. Everyone looked at me confused.
" Dallas remember the time when we were at the Winn-dixies super market and you were teaching me how to steal a lighter and they caught you. So we started to run and you ran straight into so big intimidating guy and you peed your pants!" I was laughing so hard I could bearly breath. Everyone started laughing accept Dallas. Dallas was just fighting a smile as it creeped onto his face.
" Oh shut up. He still is the scariest guy I've ever seen." He said. We walked out of the alley once Steve said the coast was clear.

We ran back to the Curtis' house. Everyone was laughing and yelling when we came in. 

"Hey did you all leave my here while you went out!?" Pony asked standing in the living room. He had his pjs on and his hair was messy.

"Sorry Pony! You were sleeping!" I said patting his messy hair down.

We all got comfy in the living room. Dally, Soda, Steve, and I all were on the couch. Darry was in his chair. Two-bit, Johnny, and Pony sat around the table. We watched the tv until we all fell asleep.
