~TWELVE~

I woke up to someone shaking me.

"What,what?" I said getting up from my position and covering my eyes from the sun.

"Delaney you really have to get back to our place. We've been looking for you all night!" Ponyboy whispered to me. Josh was still asleep.

I thought about it. Should I go back and hide or should I just run away?

"Fine" I said giving up.
"Josh! Wake up." I shook him awake. "I'm going back to the Curtis's."

Once we made it back to the Curtis's Dally was sitting on the front porch. He ran up to me and hugged me so tightly. "I was actually scared that they arrested you." He said. I still was mad at him, but he was my brother. I know I said I was unforgiving but something about Dallas changed that.

"Aww look at Dally all lovey dovey for his sis!" Two-bit yelled out. "I ain't love my sis like that." He said. Steve started laughing along with him.
He let go of me.

"I'm sorry but I actually hate your hair"he said biting his lip. "I gotta run to the store I'll be back soon." He said. I nodded.

I scoffed and went inside. Josh followed close behind me trying to catch up. I went to the kitchen and got two glasses of water.
"You probably shouldn't be here" I said handing him water.
"I don't know where to go" he said setting the glass down on the counter.

I didn't realize how close we where until Soda stepped in between us.

"Oh sorry guys. I'm thirsty too." He said grabbing a glass. He smiled at us then turned away. But it wasn't a kind smile.

"What's his deal?" Josh asked me once soda turned away and was far enough from us.

I shrugged as I took another sip. I poured the remaining water into the sink and washed my cup. As I did this I could feel Josh's eyes on me the whole time.

"What?" I said laughing.
"Nothin"he said. "I just missed you"
I smiled.
"You should really find somewhere to go before Dally gets back." I said.

"Yeah maybe you should go" Soda said popping out of nowhere.

"Sorry what did you say? " Josh asked irritated.

"I said get the fuck out of my house" Soda said.

I don't remember you being apart of this conversation" Josh said getting angry.

"And I don't remember inviting you in!" Soda said stepping closer so there where face to face death staring each other.

"Alright guys I love fights but not when my friends are fighting. You two are acting like children. " I said trying to stop them.

They started arguing back and forth until I stepped in between them to stop them. They both stopped and looked at me. I handed Josh's keys to him and pushed him back. He shook his head and turned away.

"Josh I'm sorry!" I yelled after him.

"Leave him be"Soda said to me.

" Soda what has gotten into you!?" I yelled I ran after Josh but he was already pulling out of the drive way.

I walked back in and slammed the door in anger.
"Don't slam the door!" Pony yelled out to me.

"Shut the hell up Pony! I'll slam what ever I want." I said face planting into the couch.

Pony sat next to me. "I finished cleaning up the guest room. If you want you can go up there now." Pony said softly.

"Thanks Ponyboy" I said as I got up I scuffed up his hair with my hand as I passed him. He shoved my hand away playfully.

I laid on the bed just staring at the ceiling for about an hour. I was lost in my own thoughts until I heard Pony and Soda start to talk. I went up to the door and put my ear flesh with the door so maybe I could hear something.

"Soda what was that about earlier? Why were you acting like that?" Ponyboy questioned him. I love you so much right now Ponyboy.

"Did you see the way that Josh looked into her eyes!? They obviously have something going on" I heard Darry say. " if ya ask me, I think Sodas jealous."

I thought about it. Maybe he was jealous.

"Stop I'm not jealous!" He said.

"They why did you act like that!? That's not like you!" Pony said loudly.

"Hush Ponyboy she might hear you!" Darry said.

"Oh she ain't listenin she's probably sleepin" Pony said.

I heard something hit my window. I stepped away from the door and made my way over the the window.

I pulled the shades back to see a figure standing in front of me.
