"From how many days are we here?" I asked. "From 4 days" answered Mellina. "How are you Katherina?" asked Catalina. "I don't know" I managed to answer. "What do we do know Katherina?" asked Marina who was silent all this time. "I am sorry guys. It all happened because I trusted my Uncle even though I knew all the time how he was but still I trusted him I am sorry." I said "But why are we locked here? What happened with you that day," asked Marina to me. I narrated to them all that had happened that night and how Alfred hit me and how I fainted and how I didn't remember anything after that. Everyone had mixed expressions when I completed telling the incident. "First of all, we should think about how we should get out of here." Said Mellina and we all agreed.
In the night we observed we could hear noises from upstairs clearly if we kept quiet we heard Alfred say to Uncle that they should somehow make me sign the papers. If we don't agree they would not give us meals and they would torture us to make me sign those papers I had tears in my eyes, I couldn't protect my sisters they were here tied with me starving for last four days.
We heard someone coming down the stairs it was Aunt Christina she came near me and asked "Will you sign the papers Katherina?" "No!" I said "Never! Not even in your dreams, Mrs Christina!" I shouted angrily. She was having a whip in her hand; she beat me with it and left the basement. I cried, and she hit me on my arms it was burning. A few days passed I didn't know how many, because we were kept with a single light hanging on our heads and nothing else.
One day I heard Daniel's voice upstairs "Where is Katherina and her sisters?" he asked in a cold voice. "We have sent them to Australia for a vacation dear. They are gone with Lucy." I felt tears rolling down my cheeks how good my Aunt was at acting I thought. "They are not picking up our calls and replying to our messages. Dad was worried. He asked me to check on them today. So I thought I would visit you personally." Said Daniel. "Oh! Dear. So sweet of you but you know how arrogant they have become? They don't even talk to me properly. But what can we do? You leave it and don't worry they are perfectly fine." Said Aunt Christina. "Okay," said Daniel and then after five minutes I heard the banging of the door. After some time Aunt Christina came down muttering some curses she came near me and held my face by the chin and asked "Why everyone is so worried about you?" She jerked away my face. Then she took my head muttering some curses, she hit my head on the pillar behind me. My head started spinning and darkness was engulfing me and soon I fainted.
I again woke up to Catalina calling me worriedly. I opened my eyes and saw Marina was crying they asked me if I was ok though I was not ok I pretended to be strong and answered that I am perfectly fine I needed to be strong for my little sisters because if I show them that I am weak they will surely get defeated, surely will lose their hopes.
Many days passed and we were still in that basement. my Uncle, Aunt, Lucy and Alfred did everything they could They would beat me, hit me with the rod, would spray perfumes around me everyone knew that I am allergic to perfumes and that more use may cause severe damage to my throat and lungs and also to my spelling sensation they would beat my sisters in front of me but we Shane sisters fought with our every bit. Every night and every morning we gave each other hope that this night would be the last one here or the coming day would be the last one here. Whenever we were tortured severely to give each other strength we would shout out our signature dialogue. "Shane sisters are beautiful, strong and the best of all." we would shout continuously. So that getting irritated they would leave us alone. they would all torture us and no food was given sometimes. we sisters gave each other the courage that was needed I was proud of my sisters that they were supporting me in all my ups and downs.
I was sure that my parents would definitely be proud that we Shane sisters were no less than anyone and we were not taught to give up so easily so many days passed yet we sisters were strongly waiting and trying to get out of here.
So much torture!! just for a company what do you think? should they give away that company to their uncle?
Will someone help them out of there?
Is anyone noticing that they are missing?
