THE OFFICE TOUR AND THE DISCUSSION

My bandage was removed and I was told that I am good to go. When I returned home with Daniel and Aunt Maria, I got to know that everyone had held a small party for celebrating my recovery. It was Daniel's idea. I enjoyed the party a lot but I was missing my parents. The party came to an end. I was giving the maids some instructions regarding cleaning the house when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around to find Daniel, he was smiling. "Can I get Ms. Katherina's company for a while?" he asked forwarding his hands in a dramatic manner. I smiled widely and answered him continuing the play "Oh! It will be my pleasure, Mr. Daniel." We both laughed and then we went to the terrace and sat on the edge like every time. "So what are your plans?" he asked. I shrugged and replied, "I don't know, I completed my studies but I have no idea what I should I do next." "Hmm," he replied. And then we talked about our regular stuff for some time when I started to feel sleepy. "Shall we go and sleep?" he asked. I immediately nodded because I was too tired and sleepy. "Goodnight!" we greeted each other and went to our respective rooms to sleep.

The next day, we all were enjoying breakfast when Uncle James said "I want to talk to you Katherina, after breakfast Meet me in your room." "Okay Uncle" I replied. After breakfast I went to my room he was sitting on a couch reading a newspaper and drinking his tea. I was reminded of my dad he used to do the same every morning. I sat down in front of him. He kept the newspaper and said "Will you listen to me?" he asked. "Yes of course," I answered. "I want you to come with me to the office tomorrow; I know you are not ready to take up the big responsibility but still. I even know what you think. So, be ready tomorrow at 9:30 AM okay?" he said. "Okay" I sighed and answered. I decided to do pencil sketching to pass my time; I went to the terrace and sat at my usual place. I was sketching the city view which I could see from there when someone tapped my shoulder I turned and found Daniel and David standing. "Can we sit here along with you?" asked Daniel. I answered "Sure." Then suddenly David exclaimed "WOW!!" I jumped in my place. "What?" I asked. "Your sketch! It's so beautiful!" said David. "Thank you," I answered.

"So? Excited for tomorrow?" David asked. "I don't know what uncle is going to show me tomorrow but I was kind of nervous." I answered "Hmm," they said. suddenly I remembered that it was only me when uncle said about the office talk then how come they know about it? I thought "Wait! It was only me and uncle talking then how come you know about it?" I asked. They high-fived and said David "I was spying on you guys" and shrugged his shoulders soon I kept my pencil sketch aside and we three were talking about some stuff and soon Catalina joined us and we were talking and enjoying sitting on the coffee table on the terrace. Soon it was evening time we went downstairs to find all the elders talking about something and having their evening tea in the garden. Dalon, Mellina, Caleb and Marina were watching a movie and eating popcorn. I sighed and thought about my parents. Everything and everyone are present here except you guys Mom and Dad. Soon we ate dinner and we were back to our rooms respectively to sleep. I lay down in my bed wondering what the next day is going to bring in my life.

The next day, I was ready at 8:45 am in the morning and waiting for my Uncle James in the living room. After some time Uncle walked in when I was talking to Catalina.
He was dressed up in a suit and I was remembering my father a lot seeing him. I went to the company with him. It was a huge white-coloured building with glass windows and balconies, the building was beautiful. We entered and everyone was greeting Uncle James and was looking with questioning eyes to me. I came here after a very long time. I came here when I was in 10th standard and after that, I never came here. Everyone here was dressed in black colour blazers and pants and light blue colour shirts. The building had 50 floors and 4 staircases and 4 lifts. And Uncle James's office was on the 50th floor. We went inside his office and sat there on the couches there in the room. He said the whole story to me of this company. How it was my father's idea and how he is just the shareholder in it because they completed their graduation. He said that it was always his dream my father how the company should be, how the building should be, how he wanted the company to touch new heights every day, and how he thought that after I became graduated and completed my education he would hand it over to me as he did not have any sons and how he thought that it was never less than any son and how he wanted to get retired and enjoy the rest of his life with his family and his friends and how he wanted to rest after his retirement and of course, he would support me every ups and downs in my life and how he would see the company touching new heights under my vision. By the end of this conversation, I was a crying mess I wanted my father to be my side and I wanted to hug him so badly and cry. "Uncle I want to go home please," I said and he nodded.

I was sitting in my room since the time I returned from the office I was fighting with myself. I was questioning myself I was not ready to take the shares and company in my hands. I felt I am not ready for it and I feel all this now also but after listening to Uncle James I am feeling guilty because I was not able to fulfil my dad's wishes and hopes towards me and I was really upset about it. I was thinking all this when someone knocked on the door straightening up and sitting on the couch I said "Come in" Catalina walked in with the plate of food and kept it in front of me. "Dinner," she said. I looked towards the window to find the night sky. Seeing my eyes all red and swollen up she asked "What happened? You were all day locked up here. Is everything fine? Do you want to share something?" I nodded and said everything starting from morning and all my questions to myself and after listening to me she said "Yes" "What yes" I asked confused. She kept her hand on my hand and said "There's no one better than you who can do this. Trust me. It's not because dad said this or you are my sister but because I trust you and I know how the better person you are".
