DESTINED TO GET THE THRONE

THE ENGAGEMENT

Daniel and I were pairing up in white and blue he was wearing a blue suit with a white shirt and I was wearing a white and blue coloured gown I must say he was looking too handsome in that. I went and stood near him. All media persons were clicking our photos and we were greeting the people. Then he turned towards me and said "You are looking breathtakingly beautiful in this Katherina." I smiled and said "You are too looking devilishly handsome Daniel." and then we laughed together.

Then we were taken to the stage for the ring exchange ceremony. We were standing in front of each other and David passed the ring to Daniel and then he went on his knee and said "Katherina, we were friends for ages. When everyone failed to understand me you would understand me. We then went on to become best friends and would share each and everything. I may not be the best and perfect man for you but still, I like you very much, Katherina. You are having all the qualities of an ideal partner and I am sure only you can be my perfect wife. I will be with you and all the thicks and thins of your life. I may be annoying and irritating sometimes but please can you handle me? Because I cannot imagine my future with anyone else I really like you, Katherina. So Miss Katherina Fernandez Shane will you marry me and give me the privilege of being your husband and you my wife?" he asked holding the ring in front of me I was having tears in my eyes and in the background everyone was shouting to say yes I forwarded my hand and said "Yes, It will be a privilege for me too to be your wife. Yes, I will marry you Mr Daniel D'Silva." and with that, everyone started cheering and clapping loudly. After that, we met our family and friends and then everyone dispersed. Some went to the bar, some for dinner and some were just chatting and enjoying the slow music being played behind. I and Daniel were standing and talking with David, Catalina, Aiden and Clare when we had a gunshot outside the house in the garden where the dinner was arranged.

We all ran outside, what we saw was the most horrible scene at least for me. Mrs D'Silva was lying there holding her shoulder and Mr D'Silva was panicking holding her. I started crying as soon as I saw her and then I saw Alfred running from there Caleb and Dalon after him to catch him.

After that, I just don't want to remember but Mrs D'Silva was taken to the hospital and was in a very critical condition for three days and died of a heart attack on the fourth day. Everyone was devastated by her death because she was a lovely lady and I personally too liked her lot we all were in a miserable condition. A funeral was held, eulogies were given and then she was gone just like my parents forever..........

First I lost my parents in that car accident because of my uncle's family and then again I lost my mother-like figure again because of my so-called cousin Alfred.

It took much time for everyone to get recovered from the tragic incident just as it took us from my parents' death in the meanwhile we got to know that Alfred too got arrested and the court ordered my uncle's family the death sentence and they all died. I went to meet them on their death sentence but no one had a bit of guilt about what they did it angered me and hurt me even more I felt how unlucky my grandparents and my father was to have such a son and a brother but Alas! It was too late now. Nothing could change what happened to my family and the D'Silvas.
