THE WEDDING

It has been six months since the death of Mrs D'Silva. Things were falling in the place again but of course, the gap which was left by Mrs. D'Silva will not be filled by anyone. I started coming to the company and taking up new projects and other work. Though at the start it was difficult but then Daniel, Aiden, Clare and Uncle James helped me through it.

I remember the day I joined the office two months back. The press conference was held to announce my joining the company. My pictures were being clicked for me and my cabin was decorated to welcome me. My table was filled with bouquets and greeting cards. The two big bouquets were gifted to me by Catalina and Daniel they were my size. And the whole day Daniel was by my side like my shadow and I was kind of enjoying it. After that, I kind of took the training from Daniel to understand the works and official meetings. Because I was a fashion designer it helped me a lot and now I was working on launching a magazine for our brands with Aiden, Clare and other models.

To publicize our brand even more I thought other than fashion shows and ramp walks, magazines can help us a lot. I proposed this idea to the staff and board directors in a recent meeting and they agreed and liked my Idea. Aiden and Clare got married last week so they are on holiday for 3 months due to which I had to pause the magazine work. Meanwhile, Catalina and David had completed their studies and were thinking of joining the company next year.

Mellina and Dalon have become doctors at VHCMS and are working great. Marina is writing a book which is to be published next year. Caleb is also working at VHCMS along with Dalon and Mellina. The four have become really good friends and they hang out frequently this way I am always at peace that my sisters are safe and are not doing anything wrong or which is not safe for them.

I and Daniel decided that we would get married next month and said the same to Uncle James to which he said he thought the same with that our wedding preparations were going on and everyone had taken the responsibility to make sure the wedding goes smoothly.

We decided that the wedding will be held with only friends and family and a few media people. I and Daniel always like to keep it simple so it was born in a church and only close family and friends were invited along with a few media persons.

The day of the wedding arrived and I was missing my parents a lot. I was crying and ruined my make-up two to three times and when Aunt Maria warned me that it was getting late and that I should let the stylists complete my makeup I decided that Uncle Alex would take me down the aisle and hand me over to the Daniel. Usually, this was done by either bride's father or brother. But in my case, my father died and I did not have a brother so I asked Uncle Alex, three days before my wedding I went to Uncle Alex and Aunt Maria welcomed me. "Uncle Alex, do you see me as your daughter?" I asked "Why are you asking this dear? Of course, you are my daughter." He replied Aunt Maria hugged me and sat beside me. "So I want you to walk me down the aisle and give my hand to Daniel as a father," I said after listening to this they were so overjoyed that they hugged me and I returned the hug.

There was a knock on my door "Come in" I said and my bridesmaids walked in they were four of them Catalina, Mellina, Marina and Clare. Uncle was waiting outside the room for me. we all together and then went to church. the church garden was beautifully decorated I got down the car and started walking down the aisle along with Uncle Alex Mellina and Marina walking in front of me throwing rose petals and Catalina and Clare were walking behind me throwing flowers in front.

I went on to stand near Daniel. He took my hand in his and we stood in front of each other "You are looking beautiful as always Katherina or should I say Mrs Katherina D'Silva." I smiled and said, "You are looking breathtakingly handsome as always Mr D'Silva." I smiled to which he returned then our wedding ceremony was held after that we met everyone and media persons requested us for our pictures to which agreed and then we had our fun and dinner with all the guests. We then went on to cut a three-tiered cake on which it was beautiful written 'congratulations Mrs and Mr Daniel D'Silva'. Then we got a gift from my sisters and Daniel's brothers including Caleb, Aiden and Clare it was a video of me and Daniel's photographs from our childhood to till date. the video ended by saying "From strangers to Friends, from friends to badminton buddies, from badminton buddies to best friends, from best friends to business partners, from business partners to a beautiful couple" and it also had a very recent picture with the group and it was captioned as "the stars of our group" our group photo was me, Daniel, Catalina, Marina, Mellina, David, Dalon along with Caleb, Aiden and Clare and like this our wedding ceremony ended and within few hours I was 'Katherina Fernandez Shane D'Silva or Mrs Katherina D'Silva.'
