DESTINED TO GET THE THRONE

THE DECISION & THE PARTY

I smiled at the words of Catalina and said "Thank you so much" She nodded "I am ready to do this" I said clapping my hands. Then we started eating dinner in between we were talking about everything that we did not since many days. Soon Marina and Mellina joined us in my room we talked and laughed like the old times. Then after some time, they went to their rooms except Catalina "When are you going to tell this to everyone?" she asked while going out of my room. "Maybe tomorrow" I replied she nodded and went away. I too slept in my room.

The next day I woke up and got fresh and went down for breakfast. Everyone was sitting in the garden enjoying the breakfast. I was very happy today after a long time as I was going to take the responsibility which my father left for me. "Good morning everyone" I greeted them excitedly. Everyone greeted me back. I sat down at one of the chairs on my right side Catalina was sitting but my left side was empty. I shrugged and started the breakfast. "Good morning Katherina" someone wished me I turned to find, Daniel smiling at me and I returned the smile. Now as everyone was present I glanced at all the members. Everyone was present there except my parents. I sighed. I stood up from my place and walked over to stand behind Uncle James and Aunt Anna. Everyone was seeing me. I glanced at everyone. Daniel raised his eyebrows towards me I just blinked my eyes and took a deep breath "Attention everyone Please?" everyone was looking at me "Unfortunately, I lost my parents to that car accident. I know no one can ever take my parents' place in my heart or in my sister's hearts but thank you Uncle James and Aunt Anna for being there for us and thank you everyone else. Uncle James and Aunt Anna were always next to my parents. My sister Catalina and Daniel as my best friends helped me realize that I should take the responsibility that my father left for me and I am ready for it". Everyone clapped. "Yes Uncle James, I am ready for taking care of the company and all the assets and taking them to new heights every day." Everyone was clapping loudly, Aunt Anna stood and hugged me tight I hugged her back. I saw everyone around the table. All the boys were clapping; Daniel winked at me and showed thumbs-up. Girls were crying and clapping, Catalina came towards me and said in my ear "You are the best sis" and hugged me tight. I returned.

"How about an evening party today; to celebrate the announcement of Katherina joining the company?"  Daniel asked loudly seeking everyone's attention. Uncle James cleared his throat and everyone watched him silently. He stood up and came towards me and patted my head affectionately. "Perfect! This calls a celebration definitely" He said and everyone started clapping and shouting in excitement, we then completed our breakfast and went our ways for the preparations of the evening.

In the evening my garden was beautifully decorated as I entered there but saw no one I started seeing here and there suddenly the lights turned off. I got a little worried. I started walking ahead of me the lights were turned on again. Now everyone was there dressed beautifully for the evening party "CONGRATULATIONS KATHERINA!" shouted everyone. I was smiling from ear to ear Catalina came and hugged me tight. I returned. Suddenly I saw Daniel was not there and started searching for him with my eyes. My gaze fell toward the stage which was set up and in its background "CONGRATULATIONS KATHERINA!!" was written in golden letters. In front of it Daniel was sitting with a guitar in his hand and a mic in front of him. I smiled seeing the scene in front of me.

Daniel started singing it was a song I loved. He winked at me. Daniel sings very well but he does that only on very rare occasions like today's I guess. The song ended and everyone was clapping loudly and cheering. "Come on. Let's have our dinner." Called Mrs. D'Silva and we all settled on the table. Everyone was talking and enjoying while eating dinner. All the gentlemen one side of the table with Uncle James at the place of the head of the family and all the ladies on the other side with Mrs.D'Silva at the other end of the table. Our table was complete but still my parents were missing. I smiled thinking they are watching us from heaven.

Suddenly someone cleared his throat and I looked at the source. It was Uncle James he was smiling warmly towards me. Everyone was looking at me and Uncle James stood up from his place "Katherina?" he called me. I stood up and answered "Yes, Uncle" "Come here." He said. I went and stood beside him, he caressed my head affectionately. "You fulfilled your father's wish. Will you fulfil mine too?" He asked. He was always like my father to me and after my parents were gone I treated them as my own parents now. "Yes, Uncle. But what is it?" I questioned. He smiled. "Daniel come here." He called Daniel who walked up to Uncle and stood at the other side of him. "I want Daniel and Katherina to get married. I have always wanted a daughter like Katherina but because I don't have one, I want her to become one." He said.
