DESTINED TO GET THE THRONE

THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ENGAGEMENT

What? I and Daniel? Of course, I like him but does he? What if he sees me just as a best friend and nothing else? What if he gets pressurized by his parents? All these questions were running in my mind when suddenly Daniel said "I don't have any objections to Katherina being my life partner. I agree to it." He said with an ear-to-ear smile on his face and I found it genuine. Relief washed me. After my parents, I don't want to lose any relations anymore. "What do you say dear?" Uncle asked me I looked at Catalina and she was nodding vigorously her head in an up-and-down position. "No. Uncle I too don't have any objections. I agree with it".

With our agreement to our marriage, everyone started cheering and whistling, clapping loudly. Everyone was congratulating us when Aunt Hannah (Caleb's mom) said "Why don't we announce their engagement this weekend?"She asked everyone. "Perfect," said Mr and Mrs D'Silva. I looked at Daniel who was having a signature smile on his face. Dinner was over with the discussions about our engagement on the coming Saturday. I was excited as well as a bit upset; I was having this big day. I was getting engaged and my parents were not there by my side. I still cannot believe that it was a mere accident.

For the last two days, my life is going in a perfect direction. First, my decision to join the company. It was kept confidential because of my safety reasons and my uncle said I can start visiting the company the next month. I was glad about it. The press conference was held and everyone was informed about the engagement between me and Daniel. Everyone was commenting that we are really adorable and made for each other. Social media was flooded with our headlines and our photos. In all this chaos I did not get a chance to speak with Daniel, how could we? We were so busy, today was a hectic day with the entire press conference thing. Everyone had plans for shopping and other arrangements starting from tomorrow till the engagement. I changed into my nightwear and came out of my room.

I walked to the terrace and sat on the table there. I was thinking about how my life was changing continuously and a bit fast. My eyes were closed. I felt some movement beside me I tried to open my eyes but were covered by a hand. I felt them with my fingers and instantly knew it was Daniel's. "Daniel," I said smiling. He sat down beside me "So?" he asked. "So" I replied "Do you really like to see me as your husband?" he asked. "My best friend will be my husband, what's wrong? And if your parents have decided then it's perfectly okay! After my parents, only your parents hold that position in my heart. So I don't have any objections" I replied. He sighed. "What happened?" I asked frowning. "I repeat my question Katherina Do YOU really like to see me as your husband? Do YOU like me? It's not about my parents or anyone else. It's about YOU? He asked again. "Yes Daniel, I would like to see you as my husband," I replied. "What about you?" I asked "I would be the happiest person to have you as my wife and business partner Miss Katherina Fernandez Shane," he said smiling mischievously. "Okay. I am looking forward to it. Mr Daniel D'Silva" I said smiling after that we talked for half an hour and then went to sleep.

The week passed in the blink of an eye with all the preparations in full swing. On Saturday evening, everyone was present there starting from our friends and neighbours to elites of the business world and all the media. Everyone was there downstairs I was in my room getting ready for my engagement party with my stylists hired by Aunt Anna for the evening. They were decorating me though I did not like to put on much makeup still I was enjoying all the pampering they were doing to me after two and half hours I was reading in my dark purple full-length gown my hair tied up in a Messy bun with white roses tiara on my head I was stunned to see myself in the mirror I was looking really beautiful. my stylist left and I was waiting for aunt Maria and Catalina to come and take me down.

Suddenly the light went off. I started searching for my phone because I have a phobia of the dark and closed spaces my room was locked too. Suddenly I heard someone entering the room from the window. The steps were coming near and then someone whispered in my ear "How are you Katherina?" and I instantly knew it was Alfred before I could shout or do something I was hit hard on my head and then I fainted.
