Chapter 12

Y/N was in his lab working on stuff to help his tomato plants grow fast. It seemed to be working well because they both have been growing in size. He then checked the time on his wrist. "Oh shoot I'm late!"

He ran outside to the fields and helped Sprig, Anne, and Polly pull out the weeds from the ground.

Sprig stood up and let out a sigh but noticed a Catercowller and got an idea and ran over to Hop Pop who was sitting on a rocking chair.

Sprig: "Hop Pop, Hop Pop, great idea! What if we trained the Catercowllers to eat the weeds? Then we wouldn't have to-"

Hop Pop: "Up, bup, bio, suggestion barrels over there."

Sprig ran over to the barrel with a pencil and paper and ate the flies flying around the barrel and began writing. "Suggestion 89…"

Anne: "Hey, you think he actually reads these?"

Polly: "Doubt it, I suggested a swimming pool months ago and that never happened."

Y/N: "I suggested that we should build a small patio."

Sprig: "Oh come on guys. Have a little more faith in Hop Pop." He put his hand inside the slot of the barrel but got it stuck.

Sprig: "Oop hehehe…hand's stuck." He climbed on top of the barrel and pulled his hand out but pushed the barrel by accident, revealing a fire pit.

Sprig: "What the?"

Polly: "A fire pit. That is the opposite of a swimming pool."

Sprig: "Why Hop Pop, why!?"

Hop Pop: "Because your suggestions were ridiculous. You can't just dig swimming pools anywhere, it attracts pests! Running a farm ain't easy, kids."

Sprig: "Maybe, but if I were in charge I'd listen to other people's suggestions, not burn them!"

Hop Pop: "You? Run the farm? Ha, run it to the ground maybe." He then bumped Sprig and Sprig bumped him back.

Polly then gasped. "Is that an official challenge?"

Sprig ran over to a poll, climbed up, and started hitting a giant bell while hollering and jumped down.

Polly: "Sprig Plantar, you have rung the Plantars family challenge bell! What is your challenge?"

Sprig: "I want to replace Hop Pop and run the farm my way!"

Polly: "Hop Pop?"

Hop Pop: "I do formally accept this challenge."

Anne: "I'm sure this will make sense in a moment."

Y/N: "I bet a bag of candy that it doesn't."

It didn't make any sense later.

Anne: "What the heck's going on!?" She asked while Hop Pop and Sprig covered themselves in mud.

Y/N: "Where's my candy?" He asked with his hand out. Anne reached into her pocket and dropped a bag of candy on it.

Hop Pop: "The Plantars family challenge."

Sprig: "An artful test of skill where the winner takes all!"

Polly: "They push each other until someone falls off a lily pad. It's dumb but fun to watch."

Y/N: "Kind of like walruses."

Anne: "Has Sprig ever won?"

Sprig: "I've won in spirit."

Anne: "So no."

Polly: "Enough chit chat! Let the challenge begin!" She hit a bell as Hop Pop and Sprig ran towards each other while yelling their battlecry. Then they pushed and sometimes slapped each other back until Hop Pop picked up Sprig and threw him near the edge.
