Chapter 16

The next day Anne and Y/N were in the basement with each other. Blankets wrapped around their bodies. Since it was raining outside the two were relaxing in their own beds.

Anne: "Ahh, nothing like sleeping to the sound of rain. Am I right Y/N?"

Y/N: "Yeah…"

They both sighed in relaxation enjoying the sound of rain. It was interrupted when Hop Pop kicked the basement door open.

Hop Pop: "Anne, Y/N, this is the third time I've been calling you two!"

Y/N: "Eh?"

Anne: "What? No you haven't."

Hop Pop: "No…? Okay then, this is the first time I'm calling you two! Let's go, we got work to do."

The two got ready and went up to the living room and saw Sprig and Polly already there. Hop Pop came in with a raincoat on.

Hop Pop: "Today, we got a full day of hard work ahead of us. Here ya go, put this on." He handed Y/N, Anne, and Sprig raincoats and boots.

Y/N: "They have clothes my size?"

Hop Pop: "Polly here you go sweetie." He tied Polly in some plastic on the side of her body.

Sprig: "Rain gear? Hop Pop, we're frogs. We should actually be taking off our clothes, woo-hoo!" He took off his shirt and started spinning it above his head.

Y/N: "Don't leave me out of this bro!" He took off his shirt and started spinning it above my head.

Anne covered her eyes and peeked a little through them.

Hop Pop: "Keep your pants on you two. This here ain't no ordinary rainstorm."

He motioned to the window and saw Wally getting hit by a flying tree.

Hop Pop: "We gotta cover up the crops before they're destroyed! It'll be hours of back breaking work in the mud and muck. Thankless hard character building labor."

Anne was not liking what she was hearing and thought of an idea. She then started coughing.

Sprig: "Whoa Anne, everything all right?"

Anne: "No, I think I'm…sick." She weakly fell to her knees as Hop Pop walked up and inspected her.

Hop Pop: "Hmm, no slimy coating. Well that's good."

He then put his hand on her mouth and pulled out her tongue and inspected it. "Great grubs! Your tongue has shrunken to an unnaturally tiny size!"

Anne smacked his hand away. "Stop it! I've got human stuff going on that you don't know anything about-" She started coughing again.

Anne: "Oh no, sounds like I've got a bad case of the…mocha lattes!"

Y/N: "Mocha lattes…? I must've missed that chapter back home. Well I hope you feel better soon Anne." He quickly put on the boots and raincoat.

Y/N: "Mother Nature may be a tough opponent but I'm ready to take you on this time!" He ran outside while yelling a battlecry.

The Plantars walked up to the door.

Hop Pop: "Rest up Anne, we'll handle the work today."

Sprig: "Feel better Anne!"

Polly: "Rest up!"

Anne: "I'll try my best…"

They walked out as Anne smiled and sat up straight. She ran down into the basement and came back out with her phone to play some music.
