Nathaniel was in his office, fingers joined, eyes chained to his table, trying to contemplate this situation.
De Villiers' suspicion was clear, trying to apprehend what was going in his mind but his efforts were fruitless.
"I am curious, no reports of activity from them, although they are a visible threat." He spoke up, getting him out from his vast sea of cognitions.
"Hmm. I know." He hummed, opening his eyes, looking up at him coldly.
"Should we save ourselves the trouble and settle our score with him?" De Villiers said again as he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"We can't. He has her and his demise will result in cutting our all connections with India." He gave a proper explanation along with a reminder.
"Don't forget, he is a ruler of his own territory... Those Sheikh Brothers together cannot invade India in his presence."
"Though barking at mine will cost him dearly." Muttering, his jaw clenched but faded into amusement.
"Let's see whether he could compensate for it or not."
Arching a brow, De Villiers asked, "And her? What about her?"
"She is bound to me, her fate is tied with me, let her fly freely for the time being."
Scoffing, he moved back, resting his hand on the armrest, closing his eyes to the future he wants to create.
"She is going to be caged anyways. She will be mine sooner or later."
De Villiers opened his mouth to argue but knows it's pointless.
"Why?"
"Hmm?"
"Why do you desire her so badly, Boss?"
"The title of our tale should have been enough for you."
"And what is this title?"
Blind Worshiper.
After a moment of silence, he raised from his seat, not wanting to talk about this matter further and left.
He walked out, going to the terrace of his enormous empire, resting his hand on the railing, Staring into nothingness, nagged with undesirable memories knocking on his desolate desert.
"Please return to me."
Closing his eyes, his grip on the balustrade tightened.
'It existed for me. And me alone. How can I allow her to mark it under someone else's name? '
Slamming his hand, he pressed his teeth against themselves, trying to sooth the lava of his mind.
"Why did you return?" A voice came from his heart.
"Should have cursed me, hated me and left me in the end." The rage flowed into dejection, lowering his gaze, mumbling under his breath and walking back inside.
"My existence will only stain you in the end."
Upholding his unbreakable façade, he walked down the corridor with an unreadable expression on his face. Watching him, Amanda walked after him, "Boss, the annual meeting is going to take place soon."
"I know. Stop reminding me consistently, Amanda." He replied rudely.
"And there's no activity from Kalank." She added and his steps halted, turning to her, furrowing his brows in irk.
"So? Do you think I will vex about a damn foreigner? Do you think I have time for it?"
Taking a step back in intimidation, she moved back, looking down, "I.. apologize."
