Zariah
Damn it, I was utterly trapped here.
All my activities are surveillance under him to make sure I won't stab him in the back.
"Shit."
Cursing under my breath, I was pacing around the room in distress.
I had to take my next step carefully because terms wouldn't be favorable if I got caught.
That ruthless beast would rip my skin.
Taking a deep breath, I emptied my mind to indulge in my moment for a while before initiating things.
I wonder when Nathaniel would be home, perhaps I should cook dinner for him as well.
"Vera." I called her while she was setting my clothes in the wardrobe.
"Yes, Madam?"
"When Nathaniel returns?" I asked, using my phone.
"No timing fixed." She replied.
"I see... I am going to prepare his dinner." I said.
"You don't have to." She said, trying to convince me.
"Am I supposed to ask from you?" I asked sternly, narrowing my eyes at her.
"I apologize, Madam."
"I am already stuck here. Why not fulfill some obligations other than crawling around to find nothing." I muttered, getting up to explore the place.
It had been a while since I had been here.
As I was walking around I got a call from Alessandra.
"Hey Girl, how are you doing?" She asked cheerfully in her enticing tone.
"Stuck at home, Did you talk to Father about opening the branch? Tell him to get the paperwork done as soon as possible, I don't want to stay at home." I said grumpily.
The thought of being thralled in here sent shudders to my core. Moreover, facing Nathaniel after those tortuous moments would steal my sanity.
"You sound eager. Sure, I will inform Uncle. It will be done soon, you focus on Nathaniel for now." She reminded me.
"Don't tell me, even if I don't he will." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"My, Possessive. Well, he is sensitive when it comes to his belongings." She sighed, sounding vexed about my state.
"I am not made for staying at home." I exhaled, taking a seat.
"Yeah, you have been working for longer you could remember, being free must have affected your mind."
Her sentence made my heart sting. It was not like I chose it myself.
"That's why I want to work as soon as possible, even if it's not like my previous one but I need it." I said desperately.
Frustrated by my own personality which needs constant distractions to not face the darkness dwelling within me.
"Don't worry. It will be done soon. Why don't you go on your honeymoon then?"
She chuckled temptingly, pinching my nerves. Provoking what my lips couldn't pursue.
"I'd rather stay at home." I scoffed, rolling my eyes off.
I compete with his overwhelming presence, that lone action was enough to hamper my functions.
"Basically, you are telling me to invade my hunter's territory." I said direly, displeased by her calmness.
