A series of silenced gunshots came, barging inside the basement, staggering the men instantly to find the Crazy Zariah.

Fumes emit from her, unwillingly holding her gun and killing five men in one smooth go.

Hands not shaking once, annihilating her target in one swoop that surprised everyone to find her still holding that power.

"My, my, she has snapped," Nathaniel whispered to himself.

Her wrath was a reminder that she might have left this life but her fingers were made to end lives swiftly.

Followed by De Villiers who targeted Zoran, scowling at him.

"Stay the fuck there, Zoran!"

Zoran exhaled loudly, putting his hands up defensively in the air, not resisting anymore.

"Damn this crazy woman,"

"I told you, didn't I?" Nathaniel declared unwaveringly.

The glimpse of madness concealed when Zariah entered, not wanting her to witness it.

But the fact, she cleared out those men, the irresistible urge of saving Nathaniel enticed him endlessly.

He found himself attracted, that to save him, conditions never mattered. His life topped all.

"Tsk," Zoran scoffed.

Motioning to his remaining men who dragged out another man from behind whose mouth was covered.

"What the-"

They all gradually turned and were about to kill the covered man but Nathaniel stopped them by his whistle, recognizing the buildup and dressing style instantly.

"Ah, ah, halt there,"

Zoran chuckled darkly, giving them all a warning stare. Half of his men died in a matter of minutes, showing why Zariah's patience must not be tested.

"What the fuck do you want now?" She scowled, losing her breaths to find Nathaniel with bruises and tied up.

Her gun directly pointed at his head, wanting to end him and finish this chain of hatred but...

How could she go against when Nathaniel gave them a warning stare to not shoot.

"My, my, you have exceeded my expectations. You are much more dangerous than I heard. Well, you are the human killing machine after all," He chuckled and shrinking his eyes, Nathaniel called him warningly.

"Zoran..."

"Watch out, all of you," He smirked, taking a step back but Zariah's glare and direness made him stop if he treasured his life.

"If you hurt me, I will kill him, you adore him dearly as your Alice's lover, don't you?"

He mocked as his man recovered the cover from Elton's face who was all bloody, hitting him and bringing him back to consciousness.

"Argh..."

"Wake up sleeping boy, look who came to greet you," Zoran snapped his fingers.

Blinking to adjust his vision, Elton witnessed his surroundings as horror crept on his face.

"Elton!"

"Sir!"

"He thought he could deceive me by acting as my ally and spy on me on your orders." Zoran hissed when his people pressed their guns on his head, leaving him powerless.

Nathaniel paused, jaw clenching outrageously when Zoran used the man he wanted to save from this darkness at all cost.

"Huh? Pretending to be his enemy but in reality helping him!"

"Sir... I am sorry,"

Nathaniel didn't reply.

Elton made a miserable face, glancing at Nathaniel who was on the ground, hands tied and a grimace plastered on his face.

He was disappointed that it was the result of his carelessness.

He didn't want to disenchant Nathaniel.

"But, he forgot, just trying to look like you isn't enough to become you," Zoran smirked viciously, knowing he had won a ticket out of his prison.

Grinning wickedly, he turned to Zariah who had lost her patience with him as De Villers approached Nathaniel gradually but Zoran pointed his gun at him.

"Ah, ah, we won't move until a decision will be made, De Villers," Zoran warned.

All of them had their guns on each other, either a bloodshed could take place or a defeat.

Nathaniel glared but also not expecting him to lead so far to plan his departure immaculately, he considered him pathetic, always.

And the decision was made by Nathaniel.

"Let him go, Zoran,"

"Nathaniel...?"

Elton's lips quivered, lowering his gaze shamefully, resenting the point they reached as his ideal remained stoic.

Nathaniel forced himself to remain on his knees.

Bearing the pain of the broken bone, eyes scrutinizing the situation before inhaling sharply to display his disapproval.

That disheartened Elton more but kept himself authoritative, Nathaniel ordered.

"Don't you dare to hurt him, Zoran, a single scratch on Elton and I will end you and your people,"

"Then let me go," Zoran demanded.

"Expect move from a low player like you,"

"Boss..."

Elton's eyes teared up a little, unable to look into his eyes, not struggling anymore as everyone gradually lowered their guns.

"De Villiers,"

Nathaniel called, gesturing to him to open his restraints as Zoran's steps retreated with the remaining men.

"Yes, Boss?"

"Let our rat run. I will also see how long it can last or how far it can run," Nathaniel scoffed.

"Fine,"

He was almost amused with how cautious and frightened Zoran was.

Watching out for everything, running away like a coward that made him undesirable in his eyes.

As if sneaking an attack from behind on him would be disgraceful for the Plague Doctor.

"Go," Nathaniel sighed.

Rubbing his wrists first to reduce the pain of the restrains, an unwanted expression plastered on his face.

Zariah growled, sitting on a barstool nearby furiously. He spared a glance, passing a monetary smirk that made her roll her eyes.

He whistled, teasing her further how he once used to but that rhythm was broken when his eyes shifted to Zoran.

He was about to leave the basement as Nathaniel called him dominantly, forcing himself to stand.

"But let me tell you already, Zoran,"

He stumbled a little, De Villiers and Zariah instinctively were about to hold him.

"Boss,"

"Nathaniel,"

But, he put his hand up to let them know he didn't require a hand and flickered a vicious glimpse while announcing the outcome he found befitting for Zoran.

"I will find you from the depths of the abyss and skin you alive,"

Growling back at his audacity of standing straight after being beaten so badly and breaking a bone, Zoran displayed his eternal hatred too.

"Me too, Plague Doctor, me too,"
