"Tell me now, dammit." I growled, grabbing his arm, pushing him against the wall but holding my wrist, he pinned me in his place.
"Don't question me. You are working under me so obey your orders quietly now." He scowled in a whisper, inducing an unbearable shiver down my spine.
"Show me your true power."
Before my mind could register, he pushed me forward without a precaution towards the enemy.
Did he throw me towards the enemy?
"There she is! Kill her!" A guy shouted, surrounded by five other men.
I hid behind the pillar, threw my pocket knife at one of them and killed the other but someone came from behind.
Hitting me from behind, coughing up blood. I fell on the ground.
"Is that all, Zariah, huh?"
Nathaniel mocked from behind, wallowing in my pinch, even mocking me but not bothering to help me.
"I expected better."
Gritting my teeth, I cursed under my breath, taking my other gun and taking the risk, I killed them all in one smooth swoop.
I barely made it.
Panting, I managed to kill them, injuring myself in the process, the bullet grazed my arm, it began to bleed.
He rested his hand in his pocket and came into view, "Good job."
He praised me after noticing I cleared his way.
"Stop using me!" I yelled at him, holding my arm, wincing in pain.
"So you are not a robot after all." He hummed, grabbing my wrist roughly and a handkerchief from his pocket.
"What?"
"You are hurt. You are bleeding. Robots and machines don't have that. You are not anyone's perfect creation. You are just a normal human."
I couldn't see his reaction but it was clear. I became his patient. I was frozen when he said it.
"A-am I?" I asked desperately.
It felt heartwarming to hear that I was not anyone's creation but a 'normal' human.
"Yes, that is why-"
But, his amusement faltered. Killing the half dead guy lying on the path of blood. The guy tried to target me and Nathaniel killed him before making an intense eye contact with me which made my heart race.
"I felt the same when you acted like this. Two faced."
Gasping, I took a step back. My heart skipped a beat in dread.
"Are you treating me like this to show me practically how you felt when I was like this?" I asked, looking down.
"Exactly. It hurt, didn't it?" He scoffed.
The sensation was highly unfavorable and tormenting but I cannot digest the fact he felt the same.
Why would he?
Countless tribulations knocked on my desolate streets but now it is neither time nor place to discuss this matter.
"Don't be astonished yet, Dearest. There is a lot you are going to see today. Now, Let's go." He ordered direly, watching out from the way, taking my hand as we went down.
Finally reaching the ground floor which was surrounded with nothing but smoke, the building was damaged but strangely there was no blood.
"Why is there no blood?" I asked.
