"Well Lizzy that woman he wants to see is a witch. She has put him under a spell."
"A spell?" Lizzy whispered. "What kind of spell?"
"It seems to be an enchanting one. He is not the only one under this spell."
"How many others?" Lizzy asked calmer.
"Seven others. I am going to bring them back to town and have the witch remove the spell."
"Do you think Beverly could remove it?"
"I do not know Lizzy." Councilwoman Anna said.
"Let us try. I will go and bring them here." Lizzy dashed out of our quarters and ran down the corridor.
Councilwoman Anna just shook her head.
Lizzy came back with Liam and Beverly.
"What is the meaning of this Lizzy? I was having my dinner." Beverly said angrily.
"Tell them." Lizzy pointed to Liam and Beverly.
"Tell us what?" Beverly asked confused.
"What are you up to now Lizzy?"
"Liam you have been put under a spell." Councilwoman Anna told him gently.
"Spell? By whom?"
"MaryAnn." He looked at her strangely. "The woman that gave you refreshments."
"Impossible! She is such a nice woman. She would not do that." He said.
"She is a witch Liam." The Councilwoman told him.
"I do not believe you. I never thought you would be the type to tarnish someone's reputation especially when you do not know them."
Councilwoman Anna just stared at him shocked.
"What did you want me for Councilwoman Anna?" Beverly asked.
"Lizzy was wondering if you could remove the spell?" the Councilwoman said in trance. She was still staring at Liam.
"I did not case the spell so I can not remove it. You know that Lizzy. I am going back to my dinner." Beverly left for her dinner.
"Lizzy why are you spreading these lies about the nice lady?" Liam asked her.
"Liam she is not spreading anything. You and the rest of your escorts have been put under a spell by MaryAnn. We are going to see her tomorrow."
"Finally! I will see her again." Liam jumped up for joy then ran out of our quarters. We stared after him.
"It better be a spell he is under or he is in big trouble." Lizzy said as she walked out.
"Oh Boy!" Paddy said. "When do you want to leave Madam?"
"I think the sooner the better."
"I think you are right."
We left for the main square. We were all dressed in our patrol clothes.
Council members Klaus and Cleo were walking around the cave when we walked onto the main square.
"What is the problem Anna?" Councilwoman Cleo asked.
"I believe some of our men have been put under a spell. It needs to be removed."
"Was it those women from Salem?" Councilman Klaus asked.
"Yes Sir."
He walked over to the Summoning Bell and rang it.
A minute later everyone was gathered.
"My friends we seem to have some new people in the area. We are going to show them how welcoming we can be." He turned to Councilwoman Anna. "Please lead the way my dear." He turned back to us. "Oh do not forget to show yourselves."
I must have had a strange look on my face because Councilman Klaus signed to me 'witches do not like us.' I nodded.
We moved with speed and stealth. We surrounded the witches' house. Councilwoman Anna and Athos went to the door and tapped lightly. MaryAnn opened it.
"Oh Anna it is very late. Is everything all right?" She was dressed in flowing nightgown. I saw her look past Athos towards us. "Anna who are all these people?"
"MaryAnn who is at the door at this hour?" It was Aunt Bess.
With the door open I could pick up all the different scents from the house. "Athos there are four mortals in the house." I whispered. Everyone heard me except the mortals.
"MaryAnn answer me." Aunt Bess said angrily.
"It is Anna and a lot of people."
"What are you talking about?" Aunt Bess' voice faded as she came to the door. "You are right there is a lot of people."
Martha was standing in front the big window.
Councilman Klaus whispered 'Now.' All the werewolves and shifters changed into their animal forms.
"Those men are immortal!" MaryAnn whispered.
"Yes they are. Please remove your spell."
"Yes of course I did not know. I am so sorry." She said a few words in a strange language then snapped her fingers.
"Thank you MaryAnn."
"I am sorry. I should have waited to see who they were first. I have learned my lesson."
"That is very reassuring."
Councilman Klaus whispered 'Return' everyone changed back.
"Werewolves, Shapeshifters and I suppose the rest of you are vampires." The vampires nodded. "The Unholy Trinity. We did not know there were any of you in the New World." Aunt Bess said.
"That is all right Madam. We did not know there were any of you here either." Councilman Klaus countered.
"Do you want us to leave?" She asked shyly.
"No I think we can live in harmony. We just ask that you do not put any more spells on my people."
"Yes of course. We understand. Is that right MaryAnn?" Aunt Bess stressed.
"Yes absolutely." MaryAnn agreed.
"Thank you My Dear Ladies. We will not bother you again."
"Nonsense we would still like to know you." Aunt Bess said.
"Then that is up to the discretion of these ladies."
"Please come back. We do enjoy your company." Aunt Bess pleaded.
"Very well. We will come to see you the next time we are in town." Councilwoman Anna told her.
"Thank you." Aunt Bess looked around. "I think we are starting to attract attention."
Councilman Klaus looked around. "No my dear Lady. They are part of our community."
"My there is a lot of you. How many?"
"Let me just say 'quite a few.'" The Councilman smiled.
"Very well. Goodnight all of you."
We bowed to her then disappeared into the night. We heard her giggling as we left. "They are so polite. Amazing." Aunt Bess sighed.
We were back in our cave a short time later. All the men had a spell put on them were back to normal.
