"I do not see a problem with that I will ask Shaun if he has anyone available."

"Thank you Kylie."

We had walked onto the main training square where some of the guards were training. They watched with great interest.

Councilman Klaus signed to me that he would watch them. I nodded to him then turned to the Mullins. "I will go find Shaun and ask."

"Yes thank you Kylie." Aunt Bess said distracted by the men training.

I went directly to Shaun's quarters. He would be having his lunch right now. I knocked once then walked in.

"Kylie it is good to see you." Shaun said.

Paddy stood up and kissed my cheek. They went back to their meal.

"The Mullins would like to go to their house to pick up some things?" I told them.

"When did they ask this?" Shaun said around a mouthful of food.

"A few minutes ago when I was finishing the trading post list with Katey."

"Hm ... I asked them this morning if they needed anything."

"Well I told them I had to come and see you if there was anyone available."

"Hm ... let me think ... " He swallowed his food. "You, Paddy, Mariela, Ramon and Missy that should be enough."

"It should. I will go and tell them." I kissed Paddy on the cheek.

"I will be right there once I have rounded up everyone." Paddy told me.

"All right."

I walked back onto the training square councilman Klaus signed 'that they were in their quarters'. I nodded 'thank you'.

I knocked on the Mullins' door.

"Ah Kylie what news do you have?" Martha asked as she opened the door.

"There are five of us that are available to go with you." I told them.

"Five? Is that really necessary Kylie?" Aunt Bess asked.

"Well it depends on what you need to carry back and what kind of reception you receive when you go back to town?"

"That is so true." Aunt Bess said.

"We will be leaving once the others are here."

"All right Kylie."

I glanced down at the threshold there was a salt line crossing it. "Oh my! Someone has spilt salt on the floor." I stepped across the threshold. "Do you have a broom I will sweep this mess up." The four of them stared at me with their mouths hanging open. I straddled the threshold waiting for a broom.

"Oh yes I will bring you one." MaryAnn said as she dashed off to their kitchen. She used the broom and swept the salt away in one swift motion.

"Hey what are you doing?" Paddy said as he came up behind me.

"Just waiting for the ladies and Toby."

"We are ready when you are." Paddy said to the ladies.

"We will be right there Master Paddy Sir." Toby said putting on his overcoat and hat.

We walked to the end of the corridor and waited for them.

Councilman Klaus stepped beside me. "Kylie what did you discover?" He nodded towards the witches.

"They had poured a salt line across their threshold but I kept stepping over it. They have swept it up."

The Mullins came out of their quarters Councilman Klaus dashed back up to his seat.

"Kylie I was wondering how your hand is?" Aunt Bess asked.

"My hand Miss Bess?" I was confused.

"Yes your hand." She grabbed my right hand then the other. "You sliced your hand with your sword to heal my knee."

"Vampires heal fast." I whispered.

"Oh."

"Are we ready?" Paddy asked.

We walked down to the river. Paddy sailed us across the river. It took us four times longer to travel to the town. Mortals move incredibly slow.

It was becoming dark as we entered their house. Rufus and Rachelle were standing guard as the Mullins and Toby gathered their things.

"Miss Martha there is someone outside." Toby said. Martha and Paddy went to the window. "It is all right Martha they are with us." Paddy told her.

"Oh good." She turned to look at the others. "We are ready to go."

Paddy and I went first then the witches and Toby followed by Mariela, Ramon and Missy.

Rachelle signed 'that Samantha, Roger and Michael were watching the back.'

We moved quietly through town then back across the river. A group of fishermen were on the other side fishing. One of them held up their lantern.

"There are those evil women who killed my Robbie." A woman said from behind the fishermen.

"Mr. Riley are these the women that gave Robbie Myers the medicine that killed him?" asked one of the fishermen.

"I would not know Jacob I was not here when it happened." Paddy said.

"What is problem here?" Rufus asked. They all knew him as a Commander in the British Army.

"Sir Corp. Myers was killed by these women." Jacob told him.

"Is that so? Ladies what do you have to say for yourselves?" Rufus demanded.

"Well Commander. We told your Corporal to only take a cap full a day. He drank the whole vial in one day. The medicine was too strong and too sudden for him." Martha told him.

"Yes he was always rushing things." He turned to Mrs. Myers. "You see Madam it was an accident."

"I understand Sir but what ailed him?"

"It was pneumonia." Aunt Bess said quietly.

"All right let them pass." Jacob said.

They went into some canoes and went back across the river to the shantytown.

"Oh my! It is very hard to see out here." MaryAnn said now that the lanterns were gone.

"It is not that dark." Rachelle said.

"It will take us hours to walk back to the cave."

"No we have a better way." Samantha said. "If you do not mind us carrying you?"

"I do not know." Aunt Bess said unsure.

"It would be faster." Rachelle said.

"Are you sure? Who is going to carry us?" MaryAnn asked.

"We are." Samantha said.

"You are a tiny thing you will not be able to lift me let alone carry me."

"Ye of little faith." Samantha laughed.

Samantha picked up Aunt Bess, Rachelle carried Martha, Mariela had MaryAnn in her arms and Rufus had Toby on his back. The rest of us carried their clothing and other items.

"My you are strong." Aunt Bess exclaimed.

"Yes we are."

We ran back to the cave. We were back in time for the mortals to have an late evening meal.

"I have never moved so fast in all my days." Aunt Bess smiled. "We must do that again some time."

We bowed to them. They entered their quarters with their bags.

Athos and Councilwoman Anna met us in the training square and asked us to accompany them to their quarters. The rest of the Councils were waiting there.
