"I feel good."
She stared at me. She looked at Paddy for an answer. "Kylie's eyes turned gold after wards." Paddy told them. "Also if you feed before you start mating. You become with child faster."
"But it has been a week?" Shaun said.
"Just because the baby has been created does not mean you have to stop." Paddy said smiling. We laughed. Paddy sat down and ate one bowl of stew.
"Is this your first meal Paddy?" Colleen asked.
"Yes Mom."
"And you are not hungry?"
"No Mom." He shook his head. "That is what I was trying to tell you. Feed before mating it actually becomes more pleasurable."
"We must remember that." Shaun said smiling at Colleen.
"So tell me about the eyes." Colleen said sitting down beside me.
"We think it has to do with Draco." I said.
"Draco! But it has been a long time." Shaun said.
"I know. It seems I still have his blood in me."
"Amazing." Colleen whispered.
Paddy told them what had happened after his cycle ended.
"Kylie are you in pain now?" Colleen asked.
"No I feel fine."
"Good. It is too early to be feeling that kind of pain."
"Absolutely."
I helped Colleen clean up her kitchen while Paddy and Shaun talked, when we were done we sat in the common room with our men. His parents said good night and went to their bed for their sleep cycle.
We went to hunt for my dinner.
For the next few weeks Scott checked me on a regular bases. Once every twenty- four hours. Paddy would wait anxiously for the news. The only thing that changed was my eye colour it faded back to my normal brown.
"Everything is fine." I told him when I came out of Scott's examining room. He would smile then kiss me.
"Still safe to go on patrol?" Paddy would ask when Scott followed me out of his quarters.
"Yes Paddy." Scott said smiling.
"Good lets go." We left for our patrol.
We returned from one of our patrols to find all the Council members discussing where to put some log cabins for extra protection for the cave. We stood waiting to make our reports.
Hugo and Curtis were walking in from their trip to the trading post. I turned to welcome Barkley and Pedro but they were not there.
"How strange?" I whispered.
"What is it Kylie?" Rachelle asked. She was waiting to make her report also.
"Um nothing." I turned to look again.
A few minutes later we made our reports then we were dismissed.
Paddy and I went to our quarters.
"What is wrong? You look troubled." He asked me.
"I turned to greet Barkley and Pedro but only Hugo and Curtis was there."
"Barkley and Pedro?"
"I smelled their scents." I was deeply troubled.
"That nose of yours." He kissed me. "I think it is playing tricks on you."
"Maybe." He hugged me.
"Do you need to feed?"
