A few weeks later we went to see the witches.

"Welcome back." Martha said smiling. "We were beginning to think that you were not coming back."

"We have certain duties to perform and sometimes are timing is not very good. We had to wait until we had the same free time to come and visit."

"Yes of course." Martha said. It sounded like she did not quite believe us. But then again she does not know what our duties are.

We stayed for a few hours listening to them tell us about their hometown of Salem. Many of the people there were being accused of performing witchcraft when they were not witches.

"We left before we were discovered." Martha said.

"It is not easy hiding what you are at times." Councilwoman Anna said.

"I guess it can be very difficult." Martha said.

"It was very dark the other night. I do not know if all of you changed?" MaryAnn asked innocently.

"Are you a little uncomfortable about what is in your home?" Lady Maxine asked.

"A little to be honest. I have never knowingly met any of your kind before."

"Well do not worry my dear. We do not harm mortals unless they seriously harm us." Councilwoman Anna said.

"Well I feel so much better." MaryAnn smiled.

"And to answer your question I am a werewolf." Councilwoman Anna said.

"I am a shapeshifter." Lady Maxine told them.

"I am what you call a mixed blood. I am half shapeshifter and half vampire." Councilwoman Cassie said.

"I am a vampire." I told them.

"And you do not have to worry about Cassie and Kylie drinking your blood. Mortal blood repulses them." Councilwoman Anna informed them.

"Then what do you drink?" Martha asked.

"Animal blood." Councilwoman Cassie and I said together.

"How interesting? Vampires that do not feed on humans." Aunt Bess said. "I knew there was a reason I liked you."

We talked a little while longer then returned home. There was a meeting going on when we walked into the cave. We stopped to listen.

"I would like about a third of the Guard to come with us. I fear there is going to be a lot of bloodshed until the crisis is over." Councilman Klaus was saying. "We leave as soon as everyone is ready." He nodded. "Shaun may I speak with you please."

"Yes Sir."

The Councilman and Shaun went into the Council chamber to talk.

Paddy walked over to us.

"What is going on?" Councilwoman Anna asked.

"The South African Council has asked for help. It seems that its members are opposing the permission law to be passed."

"Oh dear." Lady Maxine sighed.

Councilman Klaus and Shaun came out of the Chamber.

"Shaun will call out your name. Once it is called go and prepare. Meet back here." Councilman Klaus turned to Shaun and nodded.

"All right. Colleen, Cory, Annabelle, Gen, Councilwoman Cassie, Councilman Samuel, Ramon, Patricia, Constantin, Mariela, Paddy, Kylie, Quinn, John, Missy, Zeus, Athos, ..." We did not hear the rest we were in our quarters preparing. We did not say a word. We packed our clothing then went back to the main square.
