Maxon tucked my hair behind my ear, pulling me on his lap. I obeyed his movements, not caring about the others.
Technically, they don't care about us either. Cal and America are talking about their wedding day too, only a little serious about it. Maven and Wendy talking about the names of their kids and well, the wedding day too, only they are a bit steamy about it.
I guess, that's what getting-married couples does.
My brothers has earphones in their ears, Mathew busy texting what I assume is his girlfriend Erzielle while my twin already drift off to sleep.
"You still wanna know what I like?" Maxon pulled me to the present world. I nodded.
"I want your hair to be blonde again. I'm not marrying you unless its blonde and it needs to be long" Maxon pouted.
"That will be hard, Max. It will take a long time to grow it back" I pushed his hair back.
"You could dye it the same colour of your blonde. At least close to it" He winked.
"I will re-dye this tomorrow. Wanna come with me?" Maxon nodded.
After a couple of hours without electricity, the TV spoke and the lights switched on. Flabbergasted by the sudden events, Amielle fell on the couch, making me and Maxon laugh quietly, the others didn't noticed it.
"I'm tired" Maxon yawned.
"Let's get to bed" We stood up, bidding goodnight to all of them.
"Shutting off already?" America asked, her fingers interlocked with Cal's.
"Yeah. Maxon's tired and we have things to do tomorrow. So, Night-Night CalRica!" I winked at them.
Cal's mouth dropped open, not understanding what I meant. America seemed to get it quickly.
"Goodnight to both of you" Cal finally said.
Maxon dragged me upstairs, wanting to get to bed as quickly as possible.
"Hold on. I need to kiss Amielle goodnight!" I called out.
"Hurry up!!" Maxon rolled his eyes.
"Night, Amiey!" I kissed Amielle's cheek.
"Night, Delly!" Amielle kissed my forehead.
"Alright. Let's get you to bed!" I said to Mr. 'I want to sleep now'.
Maxon surprisingly carried me and ran upstairs.
"Put me down! MAXON!!!" I shrieked but his grip tighten.
Eventually, he put me down on the bed. Maxon jumped in and fell fast asleep, I peeked to see him but failed to know he opened his eyes.
I groaned, my head hit the headboard hard.
"Ow! Stupid jerk!" I grunted.
My phone rang impatiently, still caressing my sore head, I picked it up. It was an unknown number, I still picked it up despite I don't feel talking to a person.
"Delaney Speaking"
"Delancy, it's mom"
"What's up, mom? Anything I could do for you?"
"Del just listen to this, okay. The palace was attacked, considering we ended helped the civil war in Illéa, the war in Norta only gotten worse"
"But Raven said, it all died down"
"It was, but we don't know what happened. And we can't deploy troops in those countries" Mom sighed.
"Why? What's the matter?" I asked.
"Your father and the generals refuse to deploy them. They want to make sure that the alliance won't broke"
"What do you mean 'broke'?" I asked.
"Marriage" Mom sighed, my face turned pale, I found myself running my fingers through my hair.
"Oh Great! I had enough of this! First, They want to shackle me to a person I don't love. Second, forcing Wendy to marry Maven. And now, they want me to marry when they want?!" I trying my best not to wake Maxon.
"But Del-"
"No! They shall go by my rules. And only my rules. It's my life we're talking about here! Not some money laundering or someone's fairytale life" I spat.
"I swear to try to sway their minds for you and Wendy" Mom ended the call.
I screamed all my frustrations on the pillow, muffling it so he won't wake up. Due to my tiredness, I slowly drift off to sleep, my face on the pillow.
...................
Waves singing, winds entering the open windows and sunlight cascading down. Are the reasons why I woke up, my eyes barely open but I saw Maxon reading several folders, typing on his laptop from time to time. I moved slightly.
"Good Morning, Princess Delancy" Maxon greeted, tearing his attention away from the papers.
"Uhhhhh.... Good Morning" I moaned.
Stretching my limbs seems impossible from my terrible sleeping position.
"Oh Crap! My back hurts!" I grunted.
I stood up, my sleeping legs wiggle, I yelp, landing on my bum, it created a thud as I made contact.
"You alright?" Maxon rushed to me.
"Yep! I'm fine, just need a little action for my soul to wake up but otherwise I'm great" I have him a weak smile.
"DELANCY!! I need to talk to you! Open this door right away!" Wendy banged on my door.
Maxon opened it for her. Running and crying, she pinned me down on my spot, talking about things Dad told her.
"Mommy won't let us down, she promise it. She won't" I rubbed her bag, calming her down instantly.
"I apologize for barging into your room and Maxon waiting. I'm sorry for creating a scene" Wendy muttered.
Maxon knelt down to meet our levels, embracing Wendy like a sibling he never had.
"Everything's okay. I don't even want to take you away from your dear sister this instant. Hush now, darling. We are here for you" Maxon whispered to her, audible for me to hear.
"Hey there Maven!" I waved him over.
Wendy kissed Maxon's cheek, stood up and rushed to Maven's open arms.
"She's more complicated than I am" I said, closing the door behind me.
"We all know that" Maxon gathered his stuffs, stuffing it inside his case. "I'm still thinking about bleaching your hair"
"It's not bleaching, It's dyeing, genius. And still thinking about it? You say? So how about you get inside the shower room and clean your Dirty body" I shoved him inside.
"It's sweaty not Dirty. Genius!" Maxon laughed.
I looked at the but my head began to twirl.
