Astigmatism. I searched for my contacts but I couldn't see them anywhere. I stopped using them for days and this happened.
I turned the door knob of the bathroom, spotting my contacts instantly. I did not hesitate putting it on, my eyes hurt as they touch.
"Ow!"
But then, I made it. I smiled at my reflection, my eyes widen when I met Maxon's confused gaze. My cheeks turned every shade of red, and I felt hot.
"F-Forgive me. I-I'm s-sorry" I stuttered out.
Slamming the door behind me, I sunk, erasing the memory. I gathered my things and ran to Amielle's room to borrow his shower.
"You have your own"
"Please, Amiey. I'm in a hurry and Maxon is using it"
Amielle sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Fine but keep it clean"
"Thank you! It will be spotless" I kissed his cheek and hurrying myself to wash up.
Cold water hits my warm ones, giving it a cool sensation. My mind and body calm down, wanting to live underwater itches me.
Afterwards, I put on my clothes, white shorts, black hoodie and pair of Vans. I hair dried my hair, put on some powder, lip gloss and head out.
"Is it clean?" Amielle asked but not looking at me.
"Spotless! Bye, see ya later aligator!" I winked at him and head down stairs where Maxon is waiting.
He's typing on his phone when I reached the last step. His hair is not fixed the way he does when he's THE PRINCE, he's shaking it to make it more unruly, his jeans fits him perfectly, white shirt untucked, and his denim jacket on his side. He's just simply Maxon.
"You forgot your tiny bag on my bed- stop staring he will melt" Amielle nudge me.
"Watch out creep!" I chuckled.
"You two on a date?" Cal asked, America handing him a glass of lemonade.
"Not really" I shook my head.
"I told her that if she won't re-dye her hair to blonde, I won't marry her. And a day with Del, would be nice" Maxon looked at me.
I narrowed my eyes at him.
"That's a tough one, Del!" Maven says.
I laughed, turning back to Maxon.
"If you won't move, my hair won't be dyed!" I snapped, turning my heels to the door.
"She's Way tougher than me," I heard Maxon said. "Wait for me!"
"Do you really have to tell them?" I confronted.
"I'm sorry. I won't say anything that will make you angry" Maxon is using his charms again, people!!
"Stop trying to sway me!" I hissed, holding my ground firm.
Maxon rolled his eyes and jumped inside the car.
"Ugh! Great!" I mumbled.
I put on my sunglasses and entered the car. I let him drive, not saying a word. He noticed me, turning on the radio station, 'Black Magic' by Little Mix came.
I hummed along the tune, singing the chorus absentmindedly. I didn't even noticed Maxon's hand resting on mine.
The car stopped in front of the salon. The hairdresser let Maxon picked for the colour, and let them do their magic. After 1 hour and a half, I was done, revealing it to Maxon, his smile makes it up for everything.
"Where to go next, my dear?" Maxon whispered.
"Starbucks? I still have 2 books to read so..." My eyes lingered the shop, then checking my TBR list. "Bookstore"
"Can't you just pre-order it? It's much easier"
"Alright, I'll pre-order it. I don't know where to go?" I confessed, my shoulders slumped, few hair locks fell on my shoulder.
"Let's check every shop in this place" Maxon laughed, tugging me to the nearest store.
'Tina's Gowns for rent and for sale'
"It's a gown rental. I don't need that, I have tons of beautiful dresses back home" I pulled my hand away.
"Makes sense" I scoffed. "You don't need dresses. Nor shoes and even accessories"
"How about trying different pastries in the cafes" I suggested.
"Let's do this!" Maxon clapped his hands.
We're currently inside a bakery called 'Cakes and Pastries Solutions'. I spotted a cupcake with pink icing, drizzled with sprinkles and white marshmallows.
"I want that!" I nudge Maxon's side, whose eating a big cookie.
"Then get it" He said simply.
I rolled my eyes at him, making my way to the cute baker with emerald eyes and a mop of brown curls on his head.
"Hi! I want that gorgeous pink cupcake of yours" I said, flashing my perfect pearly whites at him. Trying not to be intimidating.
"You're more gorgeous than this cupcake, love" He winked at me, handing me my order.
"Is that a compliment?" I teased, my hands fished a dollar in my purse.
"It's always been a compliment" He said, his soft hands touched my delicate ones.
"Out with your brother?"
"No. Actually, he's my fiancé," The guy gave me a confused look. I almost forgot that it's awkward for them.
"Arranged marriage. Don't worry I'm not tied yet""Business? Rich people got that a lot" He pressed some buttons on the keyboard or something.
"Selling off their daughters to their business partners for a company merge. Same way as Monarchy Thingy" I shrugged.
"That's why I'm feeling lucky. Having the privilege to pick your partner. Not the other way around- I'm not trying to make you jealous about my life" He's shaking his head.
"I know" I smiled. "Thank you for making me feel better"
"Did I? I thought I made you uncomfortable"
I chuckled.
"Sometimes words hits you differently. They maybe bad or good, depends on what you believe or understand" I said.
"Clever girl. He's a lucky bloke" He looked at Maxon.
"He is really. I'm the opposite" we both laughed.
I sat in front of Maxon, earplugs in his ears, not bothering to talk to me. I'm talking non-stop, trying to get his attention. But every time I glance at him, Maxon rolls his eyes.
