Jolie came to Danielle and whispers. She was still crying, while the girls walked in two's, talking about what had happened and trying to find their way out of the trees.
"I saw her eyelids shake. Danielle, Gabriella was wrong. Juliette is still alive."
"Shh, what do you want to do, go back and unbury her? Let me ask you something, do you want to spend the rest of your life in prison, living with bullying and dirty people?" She stopped and came in front of her.
"No." Jolie shook her head.
"Then 'shut up, and stop crying. We should reach home before dawn" Danielle said, covering pace and taking the lead with the map in her grip.
..
Jolie recollected, a tear left her eyes. "I'm sorry Juliette, you didn't deserve that."
"What's up?" Anna was drinking from a water bottle. "What's wrong with you." She became concerned when she noticed the tear in Jolie's eyelids.
"No, I'm...I'm fine." Jolie was blinking away the tear.
"Are you sure." Anna asked.
"Yes, yes. I'm fine." She showed a small smile. She knew she wasn't.
"Okay." Anna was moving away.
"Anna, honey, come." Jolie called her back.
Anna turns around and walked back to her.
"In your dream you'd told me about, can you give a description of the lady you saw who pleaded to be spared but was later killed?"
Anna thought for somewhile. "She's slender and her skin was a dark color and she had the eyes of brownish grey." She remembers.
The exact description of Justine. Jolie's thoughts. "Her hair?" Jolie said and she recollected 20 years ago Justine's hair was a ginger colored. She had the same gingery hair and smile when Jolie viewed her gorgeous smiling photo on Viviane's phone. Jolie was looking at Anna who was trying to figure it out.
Anna shook her head. "I can't remember. Why do you ask?"
"Honey, have you dreamt of something like that again?"
"Do you by chance know the lady in my dream?"
Jolie thought for somewhile and decided to let her know. "I think the lady in your dream was my highschool friend and classmate, 20years ago."
"I don't understand. What do you mean?"
"I imagine you must've had a revelation, Anna. Justine is her name. I'd found out that she was murdered, days after you told me about your nightmare."
"So what you're telling me is that I dreamt of this lady that was killed, and it happens to be your highschool friend?" Anna laughs a bit in shock. "And how are you so certain it was her."
"Your description fits." Jolie says. "Honey there are things happening that isn't meant to."
"How do you mean?"
"Justine's murder. Your dream." Jolie was saying. "I feel so guilty that I hadn't looked for Justine. We could have spent some time together after all this years. Silly me, I didn't think about that for years." Jolie clapped her forehead. "She lived only a few hours away and I didn't know. You know, everyday is unpredictable. That's why we ought to visit and talk to the people we hold dearest, because we never know what would happen the next minute." she quoted.
"I agree with you." Anna nods.
There's a minute silence. "Where were you throughout yesterday." Jolie was asking.
"I was at..." Anna was trying hard to remember. She remembered going to the library and the next thing, she was waking up on her bed. "The library, I guess."
"I went to the library yesterday to grab a few reads and didn't see you there." Jolie was beginning to grow suspicions and of lately have been monitoring Anna. Sometimes Anna will disappear and come home either late in the night or when she has gone to bed. School was off session and she wonders where she always ran off to.
"Well, maybe I'd left." But Anna didn't recall when she'd walked out of the private library.
"Why did I see my highschool yearbook inside your cupboard?" Jolie says. She'd entered Anna's room yesterday to look around, and had seen the book in the cupboard. Her school books didn't hide properly.
"When were you planning on telling me that you and Dad went to the same school. How come I was never told. Ain't I a part of the family?" Anna said instead.
Jolie sighs. "I know you must've found out from the yearbook and I promise to tell you everything when the time is right, but first tell me why my secondary school's annual book was inside your room."
"Seriously I don't know. I saw myself searching for it in your room."
"You sneaked into my room?" She was in disbelief.
"Yes. I stole a key. Look mum I promise I didn't know what I was doing."
"You're beginning to..." Jolie didn't finish her sentence when the telephone rang. Anna was going for it. 'Hello.' 'yeah.' 'okay.' 'bye danielle.' She was grinning.
Anna utters, "Danielle said she'd tried reaching you for a long time. Where's your cell phone?"
"I think I left it upstairs. And yes, I'd almost forgotten about the meeting." Jolie retrives.
"What meeting."
Jolie gazed at her in a pensive manner and said, "I'll tell you about it later."
Anna shrugs and strides towards the refrigerator for a ginger pop drink.
Jolie went for her cell phone and checked the calls she'd missed. '22 missed calls from Danielle and 2 from Brian, a work fellow' indeed Danielle had phoned her the whole day. She was dialing Danielle. It didn't take long when she hears her voice.
"Lord have mercy I was thinking that something bad had happened to you. I'd began panicking and was dressing to run over to your place, then I thought of reaching the house telephone and Anna responded, that was the very moment I felt relieved." She told Jolie. "Why, what happened?"
"I wasn't with my phone."
"You know why I called right?"
"Yeah, our meeting with Viviane."
"Now let's me get this straightened out. I called to check up on you and of course, that..."
"Stay with me forever." She was thankful.
"I promise never to leave your side. And that trip to bandoos we planned on going two years ago is a must." Danielle reminded.
"I will never forget. We are going on that trip." She smiled.
"When the time is right."
"Yeah." Jolie agrees.
Danielle continues. "you're with Viviane's house address."
"Yes." She remembers squeezing it into her green purse and was going to get it.
"I tried to call Louisiana but the line isn't going through. It keeps saying, 'hi, Louisiana here, I'm busy at the moment but you can leave a message."
"Didn't you leave a message?" Jolie was searching for the piece of paper. 'found it.' she kind of noticed that the way she placed the paper a day before wasn't the same way it was placed, and besides, she didn't put the paper inside her purse but beside of it. Who could've displace it. Anna? She decided to let it slide.
"I did. Told her that I've an important message to say, and that she should phone immediately she sees it."
"Did say who you were?"
"I did." Danielle replied. "Are we taking my car or yours?"
"I'll take the bus to your house. Your car is new and we should flex on it. See you in an hour."
Jolie was thinking about what Anna had said about not knowing what she was doing when she'd stolen a key to her room. 'is that even possible.' It's either Anna is lying. if she was not, then there must be something more to it. Jolie was going for her laptop.
