Forever Sunlight

Preface

After my birth things were really happy. Mom and dad always hung out taking me with them, of course Jacob close behind. We were like any other families except for we were vampires and associated with werewolves and humans. I was half. Half-vampire half-human that is. I did not quite understand how I fit, but I was happy I did. After growing rapidly for three years straight, Mom and Dad thought that cutting contact from any human would be best. Mom made up the story that we were going to live in Europe for a while because dad had gotten an offer to work for some top company. Jacob explained his absence to Billy by saying he went to visit his sister Rebecca. We had lived closely with Grandpa Charlie before that, always visiting during holidays and just having random visits. He came over too, just not that often. Jacob never left my side through the whole growing process, he kind of had an idea how it felt to have a growth spurt.

I was home schooled after a few weeks of being born. Dad insisted on getting my education started right away. I learned what any other kid did except at a way faster rate. By the time I was four I knew everything a college scholar should know. I always remembered what I had learned by showing Jacob what I had learned that day. In a way he learned from me too, it was as if we went to school together, but instead of sitting in a class he would see it in my memories. My gift was very useful and with help of my mom and my aunts it became stronger. I worked on having a bigger memory and storing everything in my mind so I could recall it later; I also tried using my ability without physical contact, but only got to the shoulders before it went blurry.

I felt bad how all my studying got in the way of Jacob's life since he spent it with me and not with his pack. Soon enough they started joining our study group and we became friends. They got back to school after the whole Volturi issue, but we still hung out. Seth, Embry and Quil were easy to get along with. Leah on the other hand, didn't really like me. I tried hard to get her to talk to me and eventually she did, not a lot though. I was happy whenever she decided to say a few words in my direction. We became somewhat friends and when Jacob wasn't around they would share how life in Sam's pack was. They told me about Sam and all the others that stayed by his side. They made it sound as if they were much more interesting than the others back in La Push.

As I became older at around seven Jacob and I became closer. I was obsessing and just couldn't stay away from him for long periods of time. It could have been that I was considered 17, or at least my physical appearance was. Mom and Dad became less and less of my comfort, not to mention that they decided to spend time by themselves more often too. Aunt Rosalie and Alice took more care of me when they were off by themselves. They would give me advice on how to dress and how I should really try to get rid of Jacob. Of course that never happened. I might be part vampire, but I wasn't going to give up on my human emotions anytime soon, I liked how all of my emotions revolved around him. My aunts became like my mother's for a couple of years spoiling me to their hearts content.

To everyone else I was just a sweet little girl that needed some toughening up. Uncle Emmett and Jasper took care of this. They took me on hunting trips and onto dangerous missions. One of them was to hunt a grizzly; I was scared, but did it to earn some respect. Even Jake got mad that I dominated him in that simple task. All they really tried to do is teach me how to fight just in case another incident came by. Grandpa and Grandma were also impressed, but still doubted my ability regarding me being around humans. They decided to teach me the ways I should act around people and how to control myself. It was common sense, but they just did it to make sure everyone was safe.

I haven't had a real birthday celebrated after seven, I was all grown up, and my physical appearance was that of a 17 year old. I was forever to stay this way aging no more. The whole party thing didn't grab my interests. There wasn't really any point to a party, but Aunt Alice found a way to gather us together for a family dinner. Of course presents weren't off limits, and gifts were galore for me. I got family jewels, clothes, jewelry, and electronics, anything that I would or could use. Whatever my heart desired, I had. The thing that really mattered was the love I received and let me tell you I had a lot of it. Yeah things were really happy. It was really perfect I hope that fact wouldn't change anytime soon.
