26. It's Only Funny To A Certain Point

Seeing Jake for the first time was the best thing that could happen in the last couple of days. I was pregnant and now my whole family was going to witness my baby being born.

Our reunion was cut short as my mom and dad came to kiss my forehead, and put their hand over my lump.

"Renesmee you're going to make me a grandma already." Mom complained.

"Blame everything on Jake, he did this." I laughed.

"Hey you didn't want me to stop, so don't complain." He defended.

"I'm just happy you're alright."

"I know. I'm happy, but a little scared too."

"Don't worry Carlisle will take good care of you." Dad assured.

"Yes of course. I see you've kept very healthy, and that will help you both." Grandpa hugged me.

"Our family just keeps growing." Grandma Esme announced.

"Renesmee!" Both of my aunts hugged me.

"It's good to see you both I've missed you so much." I gushed.

"I see you learned how to dress decent without your wardrobe." Aunt Alice teased.

"I missed you too." Aunt Rose answered my original comment.

"Ness, glad to see you're fine, but I have to admit you're pretty big." Uncle Emmett laughed then hugged me.

"It's good to see you're well." Uncle Jasper said at last.

"It's so good to see all of you again. I was starting to get worried, and just...I missed you all so much."

"Well now that you're all here why don't Alec and Jane escort you to your rooms?" Aro instructed.

Alec and Jane led all of us out, Embry, Leah, and Seth walked next to me. They hadn't said anything this whole time, they actually seemed like they were tense guarding something.

All the rooms were in the same hall as mine. Alec let the pack sleep in the room next to mine and then led me and Jacob into my assigned room.

"Here's where Renesmee has been staying." Alec told Jacob opening the door. "It's one of the nicest."

"I can tell." Jake responded.

"Thanks Alec for everything."

"Anything for you."

"Oh I almost forgot." I felt a little embarrassed taking so long to notice. "This is Jacob...Jacob, this is Alec."

"Nice to finally meet you Jacob, Renesmee has missed you so much."

"I missed her too, but here I am now." Jacob seemed annoyed. Guess he hadn't forgotten when Alec was our enemy a decade ago.

"Jake, Alec is a very dear friend he's like Embry in many ways."

"Not even close...I do have to thank you though...for taking care of Renesmee and making sure our son lived."

"My pleasure."

"I'm in debt with you Alec. I hope to repay you soon."

"I just ask for your friendship."

"I'll think about it."

Alec and Jacob being friends would be great. What would be better than having one of the Volturi be our friend?

The door creaked and the pack came inside. They were still tense knowing Alec was in the room.
