29. Goodbye

I felt a cool sensation on my jaw line which caused me to open my eyes. I was surprised to see Alec sitting next to me.

"Forgive me for waking you." His voice was almost a whisper.

"It's okay..." I was sleepy. "Did you need anything?"

"Just to see your face one more time."

"Sorry about your leg." I changed the topic.

"Yeah I was surprised he caught me, I blinded him, but I guess he heard my footsteps or something."

I smiled. "Did it get better?"

"Yeah I just had to keep it together for a few seconds, but I'm fine...for now."

"Alec..." I couldn't help my curiosity. "What did you mean by 'one last time'?"

He sighed. "I need time on my own. After meeting you, I realized that something was missing in my life. Renesmee I fell in love with you and that has never happened to me before. I hope that in my solitude it may happen again with someone that loves me back."

"I wish you the best of luck. You deserve to be loved...I hope that you find someone that loves you just as I love Jacob."

My words pained him a little. "I saw your children...the little girl is special, she has great potential-"

"They're both special and they're both just my children." I cut him any ideas.

"Right. I hope to see you once again Renesmee."

"Me too Alec. Did you warn the Volturi."

"I make my own choices and right now they have to be comprehensive about this. Jane will inform them soon enough."

"Thank you for protecting me and for keeping your promise. Goodbye Alec." I could barely form the words.

"You're more than welcomed, anything for you. Goodbye my forbidden love." He got off the bed and went to the door. He gave me one last look and smiled, and then he disappeared.

What would become of Alec? Only time could tell, and we had plenty of it.

Good morning mommy!

I could hear voices in my head. Jacob why so early? I thought.

Mommy you're silly

Daddy's right here.

I opened my eyes and just as the angel's voices had said Jacob stood with one baby in each arm. They couldn't lift their bodies, but were well aware of what was going on.

"Good morning Mrs. Black." Jacob greeted me.

"You two have to learn to let mommy sleep." They giggled in my head. "Good morning Mr. Black." I reached for him and he kissed my lips.

"You should hold them before breakfast comes." He warned.

He handed me our little boy first with a blue blanket wrapped around him. Then he handed me our little girl with a pink blanket. There was no doubt that these were our kids. They both had light tan skin with jet black hair. Just like in my dream my little girl had curly hair, and their eyes were green, however they had a hint of brown. There was also a pool of peachy pink in their cheeks and under their eyes a bit of lavender.

"Hello, how did you sleep last night?" I asked my children.

Daddy kept us warm all night. My little girl answered me.

"Really you were supposed to be in a crib."

"Carlisle-"

We wanted to be with daddy. My little boy countered to save Jacob's butt.
