Construction started right away. This was no longer a cottage they were talking about, it was a full house. It wasn't as big as the original Cullen house so far, but was definitely bigger than dad's stone one. I got a glimpse at the plans. It was going to be a mix between Jacob's and the Cullen house. It was going to be closed with windows, and big glass doors. There would be three main exits one in the front, another by the kitchen, and one more in the big room. There would be a porch up front, while the room had a view of the river, the kitchen door led out to the forest. There was a living room, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms. Not to mention a big closet.
I could tell that Aunt Alice had helped in this blueprint. I had no idea how the rest couldn't be dad and mom's doing. I watched how the hired workers started putting up wall after wall. They would take a short break every two hours, but I could tell they were in a hurry. My house was being built in front of my eyes; it felt good to know that it was mine and Jacob's.
"Excuse me, how long is it going to take you to finish?" I asked feeling the burn in my cheeks.
"Oh, didn't see you there miss. Can you ask one more time?" The startled supervisor told me.
"I was wondering how long until it's done?" I repeated myself.
"Oh." He paused, looked at his clipboard then, "We're aiming for a week, but I'm not really sure. You see we still have to make a bigger house five miles east of here."
Confused I gathered my thoughts. Why would there be another one being built? I just had to get the answer. "Another one?"
"Yes miss, you see Mr. Cullen told us to make this one and, make another close by. I don't know why he needs two, but as you can see it's not that far." He showed me a clipboard with other blueprints.
I could see that house was like mom's old house. Two stories, a kitchen, this one however had three rooms upstairs, two downstairs, a living room and three bathrooms. This one just like mine had a porch, three big doors, and a view of the forest.
"As you can see we got our work cut out for us. If you don't mind I would like to get back to work."
"Oh sorry, guess I was just curious. Good work by the way. It's looking great."
"Thank you miss. If you'd like, you can watch, just try not to distract us. Mr. Cullen insists we try to hurry."
"No problem. Don't worry. Again, thank you for your help." With that I skipped along back to the Cullen house. It took only five minutes since I took my time.
I walked into the kitchen where lunch was being prepared by Aunt Rosalie. I was surprised that she was cooking since she hated to tend to Jacob and his pack.
"Hey Aunt Rose." I said in a cheerful tone.
She must have been in a good mood or trying not to upset me by smiling. "Hey Renesmee, what are you up to? I thought you would be with your king-sized mongrel." She snickered.
I had no idea why she hated him so. "No, he had to go talk to Sam about something. I decided to stay and watch the construction taking place."
"You know, you shouldn't be around there it can be dangerous." It seemed funny how she acted more like my mother than mom.
"I'm fine, just looking. By the way I noticed that they're building another house nearby. Why?" She looked up then.
There was a strange expression in her face like surprise and hate mixed together. "Yeah, well, Edward insisted that since Jacob is going to stay here, it was only fair for his pack to have a place to stay. You know somewhere where they could sleep and annoy me even more. I dislike the fact that he's wasting so much money on them like that. But I guess it's better than having them in the house."
