I awoke Friday morning; the last weekend before school started had come. I didn't want to wake up I was dreaming about Jacob and dad. Their friendship had blossomed in a matter of days. Dance lessons were the start, then racing their cars. Right now who knows what they were doing. I was just glad that they were spending time together.

"Renesmee get up we need to go see dad!" Mom was probably in the kitchen making food.

"Okay!" I had a hard time saying it, but I did.

I felt sluggish so I made my way to the bathroom and took a shower. After the warm water woke me up, I dried and dressed myself. After I made sure I looked decent I went to the kitchen. The smell of eggs and toast hung in the air.

"Food's at the table." Mom said while washing the pan she had used.

I started eating after a mouthful I decided to ask what this whole thing was about. "Why are we going to Grandpa's house?"

"He wants to see you. Not only you, but us." Mom didn't look at me while she spoke.

"Us?" I took another mouthful of food and chewed rapidly.

"You, Jacob, Edward, me? Do you get the picture?"

"Yeah, thanks for the sarcasm."

She chuckled. "You know I'm kidding."

"So I guess you and grandpa straightened things out?

"Yeah, and no lies this time, just necessary secrets."

I smiled. "That's great."

Mom gave me a puzzled look. "Do you know why Edward and Jacob have been spending so much time together? I mean it's great, but why?"

"Jake just wants to try and be friends with his 'mortal enemy' as he likes to say." I just had to quote Jake.

Mom smiled. "That Jake, he's changed a lot."

"What do you mean?" I was curious to know how great my fiancé was.

"He hated anything that had to do with vampires, now he's trying to get along with them. It just makes me glad that my best friend can get along with my husband after how much I hurt him."

"It makes me happy too. Mom did you ever love Jake?" I just had to ask.

Mom hesitated to answer. "Yes, at one point I did he made me feel good, like without him there would be no tomorrow. He was like the sun in my heart, without him there would be no day, no sunlight. That just didn't change the fact that I couldn't live without Edward. I rather it be night forever than be without him."

"I know what you mean. Jacob is like a sun to me too. He makes me feel warm and secure. I just can't handle being away from him. I love him."

"I'm happy for you Renesmee. I'm also glad that after all the pain I gave him, I could give him something to make him smile again. Jacob kept his promise about making us happy if I gave him a chance." She chuckled lightly.

"He's great. That reminds me, tomorrow is Sam's birthday and-"

"Yes, I know all about it, your father told me."

"Okay now I know why it's annoying to get your mind read."

"Good thing he can't read mine unless I want to."

"Ha, ha, ha, very funny. Does that mean we can go?"

"As long as you two don't-"

"Mom that is not happening any time soon. What is it with you guys and your grandkids?" I chuckled at that one even though the sex topic was annoying.
