(I'm apologizing in advance for the long length of this chapter)

I watched the fire I had going in the pit my family had people dig and it made me roll my eyes in my head. Of course, they had someone dig a hole just so I could have a fire.

Then again I looked down to the dragon egg in my lap. Verena had laid her eggs months ago and they have hatched and are laying with their mother. She had produced more after the ceremony last night.

It was quite strange because they normally take quite a while to produce.

"She is quite a dragon, producing eggs so quickly. She will need to eat soon." Bronimir spoke entering the tent and I just nod my head toward him.

"Quite strange but it is good. It means we will have more dragons and our bloodline will be secured even when I die." I spoke gently stroking the somewhat warm egg and I could see the frown on Bronimir's face as I spoke.

"Which will be a long time from now, that much I am sure of." He spoke softly and she smiled before standing and opening the hatch that contained the other three eggs. She had lain four eggs in total. Rare. Very rare.

"We cannot predict the future, my little one," I spoke in a soft voice and he huffed before coming forward and placing his hands on the hatch lid. Closing it.

"You will live because you are the only one who can keep our people alive." He spoke softly and I just cup his cheek and shake my head. A smile gently breaking across my face.

"With you saying just that makes me believe you to be wrong. You could lead our people my sweet. That is why you will be the one to take the throne and be my heir until I produce one myself." I spoke lightly to him making his eyes widen and I couldn't help but widen my smile.

"When you rule, you must understand everyone around you. You will always have someone willing to kill you at a moment's notice because they don't believe you should be ruling. Power can drive people to be deceitful and dishonorable. They would condemn you for doing the wrong thing. That is where you show them true power. You show them why they should love but fear you." I whispered to him and his eyes shown slightly as he thought of it.

I smiled before turning to my chest of clothes and opening it before looking to him, "We have court matters to handle then the trials."

"I thought we would do the trials first?" He asked with confusion and I couldn't help but smile at him.

"Even though I said at the first light, I am putting it aside for the moment. My people are more important than my anger for the young vampire." I spoke to him and he nodded his head as if understanding her.

"Go wait with your sister. I will be there shortly."

Bronimir just stared at her with a frown but nodded to her bowing slightly before walking back out of the tent. He still has so much to learn.
