I was scolded , again , Jake was fuming as he saw that i me being irresponsible was the reason i got kicked out, he isn't wrong , so I sat there and listened to him scolding me and telling me that i should act more responsible and reasonable .

Heeseung also wasn't having it , me risking my ACTUAL job to have a slight chance in a filler role wasn't making him feel okay , he thought I had to be smarter when take actions , ge wasn't wrong either

I listened to the couple as they scolded me by turn , I wasn't mad at them, and totally undrstood it comes from their pure love and care towards me . But being in that situation at that moment wasn't the best experience, I hated every molecule of myself, felt guilty thinking of all the strings they have to pull for me to have a decent life , a 26YO who can't take care of himself and depends on others to set him a life , while he ruins it every time

That night I couldn't sleep either , I found myself thinking about the same things , my passion , my career , my life .. but it didn't feel the same , I , that night , and after seeing Heeseung back hug Jake to lessen his madness , while jake kept whisper-shouting , I felt how much of a burden I was on the couple

-" I can't believe he embarrassed me that way , I basically begged for that job for him . I'm afraid I'll have to turn him down this time"

-"I'm sorry jakey , don't get angry and tell him , I'm sure you can find him a good place" Heeseung whispered while nuzzling his head in Jake's neck

-"That's what I'm saying " Jake shook his boyfriend off him "He built himself an unserious image , nobody wants him at all "

-"But my Jake is so good at creating opportunities" Heeseung smiled walking back again to his bf's side "Just one last time"

-"I don't know if I can do this"

- " You can make wonders my love , I know you can"

The whole scene played in my eyes , i was getting the two people who helped me the most in troubles . That exact night , while I held my phone waiting desperately for a call from the director, crying my eyes out , knowing that if he doesn't.. I'll have to stop persuing this dream... forever

The night passed, so did the 1st half of the day , I sat at a table outside the couple's cafe , believing that maybe they'll call at 12.56 , before 1PM .. I hoped they did ... But my phone didn't ring, not even a notification... It was my sign to grow up , or at least push that dream aside for a while.. few years maybe

I walked in and discussed my decision with them , Jake felt guilty and kept saying that i shouldn't give up my dream, and he can always set me up to 1Day jobs or something.. Heeseung just looked at him .. he smiled when Jake stopped talking, patted my arm and said "you better not regret this" , my heart ached for a moment, I knew i will regret it .

Jake looked at heeseung who just left and  trew a pinafore at me "you're a full time worker here, you open , you close , you serve and you clean, and I'll talk to heeseung " , he gave me a reassuring look "but remember that I won't hesitate to fire you if you don't take this job seriously "

I looked at him, confused , he smiled and nodded his head "I know you heard the conversation yesterday, that wasn't cool from you" he placed his hand on my shoulder " but at least you know the situation, don't disappoint me Jay.. please don't "

And Just like that, I'm Jay who dropped law school  after 3 years , dropped his acting dream after 7 years , and is now just a worker in his friends's cafe , but it was my choice... Just like anything else .. it was a result of my choices ..

Today marks the 1st month after giving up my dream , working as a full time worker , allowing the couple to leave most of the time .. I got quite used to the place , of course nobody called , even if i didn't confess it ,I wished I'd receive the rejection phone call , just to kill that last hope .. I shook off those ideas as a costumer walked in

-"Good morning sir" I said quite confused at the man who walked inside  "welcome at heejake's how can I help you" I rushed behind the counter to receive the 1st client

-"1 big latte " he said , eyes focusing on my face

-"1 big latte , anything else ?"

-"You used to work at the T&K restaurant, didn't you ?" He pointed , eyebrows crossed

-"Yes sir , OOOH , hello , i couldn't recognize you from the 1st look " I smiled as i recognized the weird guy from that tragic night

-"thought you said I was handsome" he mumbled "So you work here now ?" He turned his back and moved towards a seat

-"Yes , I ended up here " still smiling , but can't see the point of his questions

-"Great to see you again, thank you for that day , you really helped me by reassuring me " he smiled with his eyes , a genuine smile ? Maybe "It's been a while I felt good after someone complimented me"

-"I am glad I did , even tho your way of getting reassurance was quite weird " I felt more at ease, still smiling "anything with your latte?"

-"Just get me anything you'd recommend, I'm not much of a picky eater" he carelessly threw the menu he was reading on the table " and I wasn't expecting having anyone there , I'm sorry if it did leave you with a bad memory "

-"Not quite , your order will be ready in no time" I smiled again and started preparing his order, just to feel him walk toward the counter and lean on it

-"please have a seat sir , it won't take long"

-"Is the place always this empty?" He ignored me and wondered his eyes around

-" We usually have at least 2 tables taken, it's just that .. we open at 6 ... So we're not quite open yet" I pointed at the door, with the closed sign hanged to the outside

-"I didn't see that , I saw your door open and walked in " he looked embarrassed

-"This isn't something big , I should've closed the door " i focused on making the coffee

-"I see , when do you get off work ?" He asked

-"That'll be 20, I packed you a tiramisu, i hope you like it" I tried to set boundaries

-"Oh I guess I was asking too much , here's my card "

-"thank you , have a great day " I waved as a sign for him to leave

-"I'm sunghoon btw , I'll come by more often from now on" he walked out, smiling so brightly as if he wasn't basically asked to leave
