Bunny - Battle of the bands

Chapter 20

Leo slides down the door in his bathroom. He cups his hands over his face. "Oh my god... he makes such sexy noises... how was I supposed to keep it together after all that?"

He takes a shower before going to bed.

Kenny gets home late. He goes to his room and lays on his back.

"I can't believe I just did that... with Leo of all people... so many hot girls practically throwing themselves at me and I get into it with an innocent blonde dude who's only experience is from fucking Bible camp..."

He turns on his side. "I never expected him to be a power bottom though. I like how he tries to control me... maybe I should text him... no... that would probably be weird."

The next day at school goes normally. Leo and Kenny don't speak until lunch.

"Leo, hey. Did you get to sleep okay last night?"

"Yeah. Did you? Are you feeling better?"

"I am, thanks."

"Of course. Just let me know when you're feeling down and I can help you."

Kenny smiles and raises his eyebrows. "Offering yourself like that when we're around all our friends, hmm?"

Leo blushes. "N-no! I don't mean it like that! Well... I do... but like... it's not... uhm..."

"It's amazing to see you flustered, Leo."

Leo covers his face with both his hands. "Just stop talking... you're making it worse..."

"Okay. I'll stop. But I'm keeping your offer in mind."

Kenny returns to talking to his friends. Leo watches him longingly.

Leo knew the relationship he had with Kenny was as far as it would go. He heard all about how Kenny doesn't like real romantic relationships because of his past. Leo just had to accept that they would be nothing more than sex partners.

Friday rolls around. After practicing every night, Moop was confident about their ability to lock in the semi final win.

The remaining four bands gather in the auditorium. There was still 30 minutes until showtime. Moop was going last.

The homeroom teacher gets onstage and turns on the mic. The turnout of viewers was bigger than ever, it was hyped up a lot.

"I'm glad to see you all here! As you know this will be the last audience judged performance. All of you are given a slip to vote on, please submit those on your way out tonight. Before we start, we have a special guest who has come early to give a few motivational words to our competitors. Please welcome to the stage, Tammy Warner from Warner records!"

Cheering fills the room as Tammy steps onto the stage.

Leo realizes who this is. He turns his head to look at Kenny next to him.

Kenny's face was twisted. It was anger. It was disgust. It was sadness. It was an expression Leo had never seen before.

Leo takes Kenny's hand and just holds it. Nothing more. He just wanted to show him that he was there, and everything was going to be fine.

Kenny looks down at his hand. He interlocks his fingers with Leo's.

His expression softens into confidence and motivation.

Leo smiles at him and squeezes his hand. Kenny's heart skips a beat.
