Chapter 25

"If one representative from each team would join me onstage."

Kenny starts to step forward but Cartman stops him. "Don't get greedy Kenny."

"What?"

Carman steps onstage to collect the prize. He shakes hands with Clyde, who came up to collect his teams prize.

Leo is zoned out looking at Tweek and Craig when Cartman gets back. He slides Stan, Kyle, and Kenny 250 dollars before leaving. No one notices that he didn't give any to Leo.

Kyle looks at the cash in his hand. "Dude, sweet! I'm gonna buy a shit ton of video games with this. That new fallout game... maybe some battle pass skins for the multiplayer games we play..."

Stan smiles. "I'm gonna take Wendy out on a date."

They turn to Kenny, "what are you gonna do with your money?"

Kenny counts the money over and over. "250... this isn't right..."

"What? Did you want more? The rest of us got 250 too."

"No. We didn't."

Kyle counts his. "No, I have 250."

"Think, Kyle. 1,000 decided by 5."

"Yeah that's 200- oh. It's only supposed to be 200..."

Stan looks at them both, very confused. "Did PC principal give us too much?"

Kyle sighs and removes 50 from his stack. "No, Cartman just didn't pay Butters."

"He didn't? Why?"

Kenny scoffs. "Cause he's an ass. Stan, are you willing to give up 50? Kyle and I already gave up 50. If you do too Leo can get 150."

"Yeah man, he was a big help. I just feel bad he didn't get all the pay he deserved..."

Kenny takes the money. "I'll take care of it."

Kenny goes over to Leo and waves the money in front of his face.

Leo is snapped out of his daze. "Oh! I almost forgot about the prize! Thanks."

He takes the money and counts it. "Uhm..."

"I know. It's not quite right. You're missing 50. Cartman didn't plan on paying you at all. We got you this much. Don't worry though, I'll get him to cough up the money next time I see him."

"Why didn't he want to pay me..? Did I do a bad job as manager? I must've messed up... sorry..."

"Stop. You did nothing wrong, in fact you were the best. That idiot didn't plan to pay you from the very beginning. I told you he was manipulating you too much, this is just another example."

"Sorry..."

"Don't apologize."

"But you seem angry..."

Kenny sighs. "I'm not angry at you. I'm angry at Cartman for scamming you out of your pay."

"Okay... uh, I was gonna ask if you could give me a ride home?"

"Of course."

Kenny turns to Stan and Kyle. "Hey guys, we're heading out. See you at school tomorrow."

"Ok dude, drive safe."

Kenny takes Leo to the back parking lot where his car is parked.

Once they get in Kenny taps his fingers against the steering wheel for a bit, thinking.

"Kenny? Is something wrong?"

"... my siblings are out tonight. And my parents are out of town."

"Okay?"

"Do you want to come over?"

"Why?"

"An empty house, me and you, you can sleep over. Do the math."

Leo blushes. "Ah..."

"Yeah."

He could already feel his stomach getting butterflies.

"Okay. Take me there."
