Kaylee:
I woke up and got ready for work the next morning and set out to get to work on the food. On the way I ran into that same female ghost with the many piercings that I met earlier.
"Sssshhhhh, ssshhh, ssshh... Do you think she can hear me?" the ghost asked.
I turned to look behind me and saw another ghost was coming towards us. It was the headless male from earlier. They seemed to like sticking around each other.
"I'm not sure," he said, pondering. "Would be great if she did. We could finally have someone to talk to."
Great, I thought exasperated. My ghost ability is now causing me to be late for work. I tried to ignore them, but they followed me wherever I went. From my experience it was usually better to try and ignore them so that hopefully they'll leave me alone. I couldn't really leave it at that today though. I had to get to work and they kept on talking to each other.
I could hear them. Yes, I could. It's been that way ever since I could remember. Sometimes it might not be as clear as others, but I could still hear them.
I finally decided to stop and face towards them. I stared at them and started talking to them.
"Okay. What do you guys want? I'm in a hurry and I really don't want to be bothered at the moment.
The two ghosts turned to look at me and the female ghost with the piercings started to talk. "We need your help," she began. I looked at her incredulous. "You are the only one around here that can see and apparently hear us, too."
I held up a hand positioning it in a way that says 'stop'. "Stop," I said. She stopped and looked at me. "Nothing good ever helps from helping ghosts. I could get called 'crazy' and maybe even get arrested or something else, trying to help you."
She came closer to me and said, "You won't. We're sure of it. You can trust us."
I looked at her with a doubtful expression.
This time the headless ghost did the talking. It was weird when he was talking because you would see his detached actual head that he's holding in his arm talking. It was quite a sight to see.
"There's a dragon roaming about, right? Well, we need your help with it," he began.
"Why?" I gave a skeptical look to the headless ghost. "I mean, I was going to do it anyways, but why do you need me personally to do it?" I said waving my arms about.
"The dragon is a being that can make it impossible for us to rest in peace. You see, we can't rest in peace unless the area around us isn't filled with a huge amount of magic. We already need help to rest in peace as it is-every ghost does-but it makes it even more difficult with the more magic around us. Like those big bursts of magic every now and then that need help being taken care of by dragon tamers in the past."
I made a shocked expression. I remembered that. I read it not too long ago. I continued listening.
"With ghost whisperers like yourself you can help us anyways by either guiding us to someone who can perform magic rituals that have very little magic involved, but can somehow still send us to rest in peace or have certain magic tools that can let us rest in peace. Even though these are magic to some degree-they somehow also I want to say illogically have anti-magic properties as well, which allow us to rest in peace.
A dragon in itself has a large amount of magic power that it releases, even unconsciously, thus making it pretty much impossible for us ghosts to move on.
You can help stop the dragon. You are a dragon tamer after all. You've even communicated with this dragon before," he said.
I was shocked. I didn't remember communicating with any dragon before.
"You might not remember very well, but you were tackled onto the ground one time by the prince because he was worried about you since you were just standing there in front of the dragon. You fainted soon afterwards. Do you remember?" the headless ghost asked.
I tried to remember. Then I remembered a time when I did faint, but I wasn't sure about the whole situation that happened at the time. I made a shocked face as I remembered.
"I don't remember what happened though," I replied sadly. "I'm not even sure I was aware of what happened in the first place."
The ghosts looked at me, then at each other, and then looked at me again, and this time the female ghost was the one to talk to me, "It's okay. Funny thing is, heh heh," she said brushing her hair with her fingers nervously, "we were once dragon tamers as well. We can help you."
I looked at them once more with a shocked face. I found out that I was making a lot of shocked faces today, just with these ghosts alone.
"You can?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied. The headless ghost just nodded.
"Okay," I said. "After work, I'll meet up with you guys in the library to go and learn how to use my dragon tamer abilities." They both looked at each other, then at me, and nodded. We went our separate ways after that. Me for work, and them for who knows what.
Devon:
I woke up excited at remembering the news about Kaylee being a potential royal. But then shortly after I thought of the dragon situation and it felt like cold water spilled over me, making my mood sour.
Time to get up, I thought. I got up and got ready for the day. It was bound to be rather unpleasant.
Every time I see my father, I still get angry at what he's done to me and my family. He cheated on my mom for goodness sake!
Well, best get moving, I thought.
I left my room, and went to get breakfast which was uneventful. After I finished eating, I stood up and went to the council meeting room where there was bound to be a meeting about what to do next with the dragon issue. I opened the doors and went in.
