Devon:
I noticed I was in a forest that seemed eerily familiar to me.
Where is this place? Why does it seem so familiar to me? I thought as I walked through the forest looking all around me.
My gaze caught sight of an old tree stump. Stuck inside it, standing up, blade placed inside the trunk, was a sword. I recognized the sword and then I realized with a startled face, body leaning slightly back, where I've seen this place before.
This is the place with the voice I've heard before about needing to have four qualities in order to release and wield the sword from the stump. I stopped, stood in a thoughtful position and said, "If I remember correctly, the four qualities needed to release and wield the sword are courage, honesty, mercy, and kindness." I looked up, turned towards the sword, and looked at it for a few seconds, wondering why I've been brought back to this place. I didn't think I had all those qualities quite yet.
I debated if I should continue forward and try to pull the sword from the stump or not. In the end, I decided to walk ahead and take the risk. I still remembered how I was forced to retreat from the sword by a forceful shock.
I walked up to the place where the barrier appeared last time and gulped visibly. I slowly reached my hand forward and encouraged when nothing happened, continued reaching out for the sword. I slowly stepped onto the tree trunk and finished walking up to the embedded sword.
I placed my hand around the swords handle and attempted to pull the sword from the tree trunk.
Surprisingly enough, I managed to pull out the sword from the tree, brought the sword in front of me, and turned the sword blade tip pointed up. I stared at the blade in front of me in wonder. It was very beautiful, and it had this magical feeling to it.
"Welcome back, Young One," said the sword. "Congratulations. You are now ready to wield me."
"Thank you very much," I sincerely replied to the sword, almost reverently.
"Now, when you wake up, I will be with you," said the sword as it opened up a portal for me to enter through once again.
"All right. I'll look forward to it," I answered and walked through the portal, sword in hand only to wake up with a start.
Kaylee:
It was completely black around me. I could see myself, but that was it. I walked around in a circle, decided to pick a direction, and walked forwards.
I don't know how long I walked for, but eventually saw a light, and as I approached it I could make out a person.
"Excuse me! Can you please help me find a way out of here? I'd like to leave, please," I called out to the stranger.
The stranger turned around to face me and I recognized who it was. No one could mistake who it was. It was Prince Devon!
He saw me and turned around leaving me behind. I ran after him trying to catch him only for him to continue getting further and further away from me.
I reached out and called out, "Devon!"
He didn't stop. In fact, it seemed he continued getting faster and faster moving now almost too far away for me to see him now. I could only watch his back from behind.
"Devon!" I called out just as he disappeared from sight. "Don't leave me," I continued. I stopped running after Devon and fell to my knees, sitting on my legs. I bent my head forward and cried into my hands.
Everything around me turned black and I woke up crying.
