Kaylee:
Time seemed to go by so fast. Even though it was boring doing all of that cleaning, I tried to get through it by singing a happy tune. It was a jolly old tune that made you want to dance. It was very entertaining and helped to make the time fly by. I was even doing a little bit of my own dancing to it. I swayed my arms back and forth and shook my legs a bit. I even bobbed my head up and down a little. That's how I was that day. I was willing to do anything to help make time faster.
I was on my way to the next room over when someone ran by and ended up shoving me to the ground in their haste. "Aaaaah!" I exclaimed in my surprise, trying to catch the floor beneath me. I dropped my mop and bucket which was still filled high with water. I landed hard, on the side of my butt, leaning towards my left while my hands supported me. I looked around me to assess the damage. I was super surprised about what I found. It was terrible, and a mess. "Oh no," I said quietly in despair. This was my first day on the job too. Now I'd really get yelled at. Probably no food for dinner or something.
I looked up and saw who the guy was who bumped into me. It shocked me to my core. It was the prince! I blushed and looked away, not really sure if the blush was really all that visible through my many bruises. I wasn't even sure if he recognized me or not. I dared to look back up towards him, but only peeking through my eyelashes. He looked at me with an expressionless face, but I thought that I saw an emotion flicker briefly across his face, too quick to tell what it was.
"Sorry," he said and quickly turned around and left, continuing down the hall.
I quickly tried to get up but once I got up I ended up staying put for a few minutes. I hung my head down frowning with a depressed look on my face. The mess wasn't just soap water and a mop, but also some things seemed to have fallen down, crashed and ended up broken in the end from my fall. It looked like an expensive vase and a picture frame glazing. The picture frame glazing seems to be made out of glass surprisingly enough, and now the glass appeared to be broken and in pieces on the floor. I was miserable. I started crying, falling on my knees and covering my face with my hands giving gigantic, silent sobs. It took me a few minutes to calm down, during which time one of my bosses came over and saw me. It seemed like she saw the mess that happened and pointed to it with her pointer finger and bent over with a fist on her hip yelling at me about the mess. She told me to stop crying and clean it up and told me that my punishment would be that I won't get any food for the rest of the day and right before she ended up leaving she ended up slapping me on the face and telling me to clean up in an extremely loud voice. I didn't hear her of course because I was in my own little world at the time. I was however dazed for a moment after she slapped me on the face. It hurt even more then it would have normally because of the bruises on my face. After a second of getting slapped I cried out in pain and almost fell over on my back but was able to catch myself before then. Once she finished up with me, she ended up leaving without another word. After maybe about thirty seconds or so of getting slapped by her I finally stopped crying and got to work. I picked up the broken glass and vase and threw them in the trash can that I was surprisingly able to find in a nearby room when I looked around. I made sure to mop the area and took special care in making sure that there were no more broken pieces on the ground and finally set the rest of the picture frame that survived back on the table that I bumped into when I fell. I finally ended up looking at the picture that appeared to be in the picture frame itself. It looked like it was a picture of the prince and his family, with his parents and siblings. It looked like it was him and his four siblings. It looks like the prince is the second born in his family with an older brother and three younger sisters.
Why is he in line to take the throne then? I wondered. I didn't know the reason why and so forth. I mean, he did have an older brother. Didn't he? I got why his younger sisters wouldn't be in line to take the throne, though. They were females after all, and only males were eligible to be heirs to the throne unless there were dire circumstances like no male children to the current king and queen or something else perhaps. Who knows what the circumstances were that the second prince is heir to the throne.
In the picture the second prince and his older brother look very much alike. So much, that they could be twins or maybe an older and younger version of the same person. It appeared that him and his older brother took after their mother and his three younger sisters took after their father. His younger sisters had the same strawberry blonde hair as their dad and the same bright blue eyes and light tan skin as their father, and he and his brother had the same pale skin and black hair as their mother.
What a cute picture, I thought to myself while admiring the picture, then I turned away from the picture and continued on with my daily chores until it was time for me to go to bed that night.
Devon:
I was running quickly through the halls and didn't watch where I was going as I soon bumped into someone in my haste. I heard a cry of surprise and a crashing sound. I looked over my shoulder and saw that it was a girl covered in bruises. I immediately felt sorry and was full of regret at what had happened. I turned around and apologized to her. I saw in her eyes, however, the shock at what had happened or maybe it was something else. I didn't have time to think about it at the moment, so once I apologized to her I turned around and continued on my way, hurrying on as fast as I possibly could. I didn't have much time.
