Kaylee:

It's been three months and I woke up early that morning.  I had a hard time sleeping and staying asleep throughout the night.  It seemed as though certain things were playing throughout my head all night long.  An example of that would be my parents.  Mom and Dad.  What was I supposed to do?  I knew I still needed to go to the library to finish checking up on things.  I've finished my reading lessons with Prince Ian now as well, so I haven't seen him lately.  I figured I didn't necessarily need any more lessons on how to read by Prince Ian anymore.  Maybe I'll visit him again sometime later though.  Who knows?

I don't know why it's been taking me so long to get around to checking out the library.  It was a total mystery to me as to why my parents pestered me to do it.  What did they want me to find that was so important?  Well, I guess I'll find out sooner or later.  Better now, than later.  So, I sat up in bed, which actually looked surprisingly new with added sheets and blankets since the time I got out of the infirmary after the dragon attack.  It felt really nice to finally be sleeping in a nice warm bed, not getting beginner's frostbite on my toes, slowly crawling up my feet.  As an added bonus, Devon even made sure to give me one of the most comfy pillows money could buy.  The bed's size was maybe a little large, but it was sooo, worth it with all its leg and toss and turn room.  I wanted to enjoy my bed a little while longer and was severely tempted to go back to sleep on it, but I forced myself out of bed instead.

I pulled my legs up and over the edge of the bed, letting them hang there for a few seconds, waiting for myself to wake up a little before getting up off the extremely, comfortable bed that morning.  I stretched and yawned before landing my feet on the ground.  I turned around with fists on my hips and stared proudly at my new bed.  Like I mentioned before, the bed was a little on the large side.  Well... maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration.  Okay.  It was a lot on the large side!  The bed went up to almost my shoulders in height, and I needed some sort of ladder or stool to get onto my bed in the first place.  My sheets and blankets were pink, covered in some nice white lace on the ends.  The pillow was also pink.  It was the color of a hot, bright pink.  My pj's were all pink, too, except for the white lace on the ends, just like the sheets and blankets.  My pj's were also very comfortable as well.  They were so soft, that when your fingers grazed along the fabric it felt like plush.  It was a nice feeling.  I lifted the back of my right wrist up to my nose and smelled my pajama sleeve, breathing in the smell of lilac.  My sleeves were too long, both arms had the sleeves hanging past my hands, but I didn't care.  I thought that that was the best part.

You see, when I was growing up, my pajamas were always too short for me.  The sleeves would barely go past my elbows and felt too tight for my arms, and around my torso felt too tight, showing half of my stomach in the process.  My pajama bottoms were also terribly tight and short, but somehow, by some miracle, I managed to end up successfully squeeze them on.  Don't know how.  This was all because I was always so tall for my age, and I ended up growing so fast all the time too, so when I finally fit into my pj's, they would soon become too small for me once again, and I'd hopefully be able to get some new, bigger pj's for me.  I couldn't always get some new pj's at the time that I needed them, since we were always so poor.  That sucked.

Anyways, back to the present.  I didn't want to go anywhere at the moment to tell you the truth, but I didn't really have much of a choice.  I was now on kitchen duty.  I was now promoted from scullery maid to kitchen maid.  I'm assuming that was really fast because it only took me around four to five months to get promoted.  Maybe it was because they felt sorry for me because of the dragon attack.  Who knows?

I went to my wardrobe and opened it up to find a decently new maid uniform hanging down neatly from a hanger.  There was actually more than one maid uniform, but I didn't bother to stare at them and try counting them even though I already knew how many uniforms there were.  There was three altogether.

I just turned around and got dressed, taking off my pj's and putting on my maid uniform.  I didn't bother to shower since I was running late already, so I hurried up and went on my way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the royals in the castle as well as everyone else.  The one thing that sucks about being a kitchen maid is that we're the last ones to get the food, which is actually just the scraps that everyone left behind and the leftovers if there were any.  Hardly enough to get by.

I was almost at the kitchen now.  After about a minute or so, maybe not even that long, I was at the kitchen door and opened it and pushed my way through, ready to get to work.

"Girl, where you been?!" It was the head chief in the kitchen.

Devon:

I woke up all sluggish like this morning.  Man, my mind sure is taking a while to clear up.  I wonder why that is?  I thought about it and realized that I also didn't feel that good.  I brought my hand up to touch my forehead and ended up feeling an intense heat of burning.

That ain't good.

I tried to get up since I had responsibilities to take care of that day just like every other day, but when I tried to sit up I felt intense dizziness and felt extremely queasy that I threw up on top of my covers, clutching my stomach and crouching over, feeling the burning in my throat as the throw up came up.  I laid back down and decided to get some sleep, hoping that that would make me feel better and I wouldn't feel sick when I woke up again.

I dreamed of a garden full of flowers with Kaylee in the middle holding a daisy in her right hand and a crown of daisies on her head.  She was looking at me and smiled.  I smiled in my sleep and snuggled more into my pillow.

This is going to be a nice dream, and zonked out.
