Kaylee:
I entered the library and looked around for my two ghost mentors and saw them in the back right corner of the library waiting for me.
I waved to them and said, "Hi."
They saw me and waved back to me without talking. I quickly but quietly walked up to them.
"Let's get to work," I said seriously after meeting up with them. "So... how do I do this? Guide me through it," I said using hand gestures to express my words more meaningfully.
The ghosts looked at each other and they got to work explaining how to activate my dragon tamer abilities.
"Since this is your first time trying to consciously activate your powers, I suggest you close your eyes so you can concentrate better," the headless ghost suggested.
I did as he suggested.
Seeing I closed my eyes he continued, "Now, I want you to clear your mind. Don't think about anything and just relax and breathe." I tried clearing my mind and taking deep breaths, but it was hard to clear my mind.
It took a little while and I was breaking a little sweat, but I was finally able to do as instructed.
This time the female ghost talked to me, instructing me on what to do next.
"Now, I want you to search through your mind. Try to find a bright light and try to tap into its power by feeling it," she said in a soothing voice, almost causing me to fall into a trance-like state. "It should be a warm feeling and it will start to turn warmer until it turns hot, but don't worry, it's supposed to do that."
I search and search throughout my mind and eventually find the bright light she was talking about. I found out that it was true. It was warm and did get warmer when trying to activate it. However, the heat didn't feel like it was going to hurt me. It just gave me a soothing warmth.
"Okay," I said. "I'm ready for the next part."
The female ghost said to me, "Now try and locate a dragon. It should show that you are connected somehow when concentrating."
I did as she said and found what looked like a long thick white string surrounded with a glowing blue color, zigzagging this way and that. I followed it to the end and saw a bright light just like mine at the other end and entered inside it, which revealed what the dragon was seeing. I could see what it sees through its eyes.
I let the two of them know that I've located the dragon and what I'm seeing.
"Okay, good. Now, we want you to try and push your thoughts forward towards the dragon. It's like telepathy, but it's sort of like you're commanding them instead of just talking to them I guess," the female ghost told me.
I did as she said. I decided to try and push out my thought, Go to sleep for now, Dragon. You can wake up again once you're well rested, to the dragon. It took a few tries, but I ended up succeeding in the end.
"Good job. Now all you have to do is open your eyes and you're done," she said.
I nodded and opened my eyes, only to hear a voice coming up behind me, "Kaylee, who are you talking to?"
Devon:
I heard someone else enter into the library a while after I started reading. I decided to try and take a peek trying to figure out who it was. I was thinking that it could be Kaylee once again, and it turned out I was right.
It was rather weird though. I saw her talking to what appeared to be no one there.
I wore a puzzled expression on my face wondering what was going on. I decided to come out after a while of watching the situation.
"Kaylee, who are you talking to?" I ask.
She turned around, startled, and couldn't seem to look at me. In fact, she was looking everywhere but at me.
"Um..." she began. I waited patiently for her to answer. It never came so I decided to try to encourage her to tell me.
"It's okay if you tell me. You can trust me," I told her. She looked like she was still debating on whether she should tell me or not. In the end she decided to.
"Ghosts," she said with a defeated sigh and looked down at the ground to her right.
"What?" I stepped back.
"I see ghosts. I hear ghosts. I experience the ghosts death. I'm what you would call a ghost whisperer. I'm not sure exactly when it started, but maybe I've been one since I was born, but I know that I've at least known I've been able to see and communicate with ghosts since I was a little child." Her right hand touched her left arm and started moving up and down, nervously. "I hope you don't think I'm a freak and stay away from me because of this," she said. "Please," she begged and looked up at me.
I saw her puppy dog eyes that looked like they were about to burst into tears.
I closed my eyes, looked down at the ground to my right, brushed my hand through my hair, and said, "Augh. Fine. I love you anyways." I moved my head, opened my eyes facing her and continued, "So it wouldn't be true love if I couldn't accept you for who you are. Even with your little quirks here and there." I smiled.
She smiled at me in return.
"Oh, and since we're on the topic of ghosts, I thought I should let you know, they've told me that I'm a dragon tamer," she admitted.
"You're a what?!" I exclaimed.
