Chapter 32

Abbie's POV

"Did you find anything?" Seeing Carlisle strongly staring at the book.

"Uh no. It's the same 17th century methods. How was breakfast?" Still reading the book.

"I learned a lot about Aro. The others are eager to go on a date with me. Though I'm trying not to get overwhelmed by them." I yawn.

"Maybe waking up at 4 am wasn't the greatest idea." Carlisle says chuckling a bit.

"It was the best idea so far. Anyway, what book would you recommend from your brothers library?" I turn to the rows and rows of books.

"Mythic creatures and beings, it's in Greek, I can read it to you. Wonderful book, really." Carlisle says.

"I understand every language known to man though I can't write it or speak it. Just read and understand conversations. Unless I want to speak and write the language. Something given to us by the gods and goddesses." I say.

"Well then here. If you have some trouble, let me know." Carlisle hands me the book.

I walk to the other end of the couch and begin to read. Getting comfortable on the couch didn't take long. Reading the story of people who are called "tamers" that speak to wild animals.

They lived hand in hand with the tamers. Long ago they believed tamers were people of magic. One day there was a child abandoned on the church, the child was a tamer and abused by the church.

As the child grew they had no animal group to seek shelter. When a dragon appeared from the sky and claimed the child as its tamer. Dragons appear from bloodlines. The child was from the bloodline Crosses, they were the ones who tamed dragon.

By the time noon rolled around I was almost done with the book. Carlisle's left the books to watch me read intensively.

"This book is amazing." I say making a bookmark. "What? Is something wrong?"

"Little daisy so pretty reading. Smart girl." Reaching for my hand.

"Thank you for the recommendation. The library has a great collection." Slowly Carlisle pulls me for a kiss when Caius walks in.

I turn my head so I land on his lap. Giggling softly, I interlock hands with him. Caius groans at the action.

"Well Carlisle looks like it's time for the next date. Oh with Caius. Window shopping, lovely." I kiss Carlisle hand and grab my bag.

Caius' POV

Little human walking. Though she is demigoddess so maybe she isn't so weak. Her scent calms me as we walk to the city shops.

Annoying people walk through almost touching my mate. I walk by her side to see what her eyes catch. Firsts of the shops are for tourists. Down the hill is residents and people making a living within each other.

Abbie's POV

Reaching the lower end of the hill I see a small dress shop. The floral and lace on the dresses catch my eye. I grab Caius forearm to stop him.

"Im going to the dress shop. I rarely wear dresses so let's add to my small collection." I walk in to see the walls cover in lace, nylon, cotton and many other fabrics. 

"What color would you like to see?" Caius asks me.

"Just looking until something catches my eye-" I stop to see a rosy pink dress with butterflies on the shirt and lace track on the splits of the corset.

"Will take it." Caius say to the little lady running the shop.

"I can pay for it, please?" I take out my wallet.

"No. Already gave her my card." I scoff at Caius, seeing the lady wrap the dress carefully.

"Fine, time for lunch. Maybe some steak and potatoes or soup and bread?"

"How about both. You get the best of everything." Caius says.

We walk to a restaurant Caius knows. The dress was picked up by one of the guards. We sit by the window.

Middle of the meal, Caius tells me about his life and why they took their wives. They show their possessiveness in different ways that aren't like the modern world.

"Caius, I don't wish to be locked away. I can protect myself and I wouldn't think of turning on my mates for the benefit of power or control." I say.

"That's good to know. It would be something new to me and my brothers." Caius says.

"I think it's time to head back now." I say, reaching for his hand.
